Answer:	Sadly, it will not run off of 1 battery. It requires both batteries in series to complete the electrical circuit and produce the required 36 volts. It isn't "smart" enough to have a limp mode that allows it to operate at 18 volts.I will say, however, that this is an unbelievably excellent tool and I'm not sure how I managed so many years without it!

Answer:	This tool will work with any of the bosch 12 volt batteries. I bought the larger Bosch 12V Max Lithium-Ion 6.0 Ah Battery GBA12V60. Lasts longer than the smaller batteries and is also handy because it enables you to stand this tool upright .
Question:	Has anyone compared this to the Dremel 8220 or the Milwaukee
Answer:	Since Bosch owns/makes Dremel, my assumption is that they are probably the same. I am not sure about the Milwaukee. All the Dremel bits fit on the Bosch that I have tried. I bought this Bosch to use the same batteries as my other tools even though this is made for the Asian market. It has worked great. The Dremel batteries don’t work on the Bosch tools for the North American market.

Answer:	I previously answered "I don't' know', but the 12v Bosch and others that size are actually 10.8v in use. They charge to 12v and read that until you put a draw on them, then they immediately drop to 10.8 v. I remember when they all sold as 10.8 v until Sears marketed their version as 12v, then everyone had to stay competitive and relabeled theirs 12v. They had clearance sales on the 10.8v ones and I picked up many at that time at huge discounts. I have at least a dozen batteries now, half of them 10.8 volt, and I use them interchangeably, but in a rotation. I looked up the Bosch gro 12v-35 and believe that the 35 is a model number for the tool or battery, but that is not my first language. I am 99% sure that the 10.8 v and 12 v batteries are the same.

First, if is your rotary tool has a threaded collars on the motor end, you will need to remove it by turning ccw (counter clock wise). You will need the collar when you attach a tool directly to the rotary tool. You will not need it with the flex shaft.

It is a good idea to lube the flex shaft prior using. You can remove the shaft entirely and grease it.

Hold the flexible shaft by the silver color fitting end (you will be able to see the inner shaft core). And pull the inner core about 2 inches. If you need a pair of pliers to hold it, that’s normal.

Insert Flex Drive Shaft Core

MAKE SURE THE ROTARY TOOL IS UNPLUGGED FOR THE NEXT STEPS

Attach the core of the flex shaft into the rotary tool collet just like you would attach any kind of tool with a 1/8″ shaft. The flex shaft is there to transfer the rotation, that’s it. It is just like an extension. Push the core of the flex shaft into the rotary tool collet and tighten the collet. You can use the collet lock button to prevent it from turning while you are tightening the nut.

Screw on Silver End

You can now screw the silver color fitting end of the flex shaft onto the rotary tool housing. This is where you removed the collar. We are now done attaching the flex shaft to the rotary tool. From now on, the next steps are about attaching the bit or burr to the flex shaft.

Black End - Tool Attachment

The other end (BLACK COLOR) of the flex shaft is where you will insert the desired attachment tool such as a diamond disc or a burr. You will be using the silver chrome L shaped piece for this stage. There is a hole on the side of the black side of the flex shaft. And there is another hole under the black side.

Tool Attachment - Flex Drive Shaft

When you align these two holes by turning the silver tip on the black end, insert the L shaped metal. This step may sound confusing but it’s simple. The inner metal part on the black end of the shaft will want to turn as you try to attach the tool. The L shaped metal is there to help you hold it while you try to twist the tip.
