Answer:	I believe it's safe to say that you can use non-impact socket on this ratchet. Speed is controlled on by how hard you grip the speed lever. My only concern with this tool is the loud high pitch sound it generates when it is being used. Ear plugs are definitely recommended! I use this as my daily secondary ratchet at work at an automotive shop.

Answer:	I have one that is 12-15 years old and it was made in Japan. It has gotten a lot of use and I have kept it oiled and never had a problem with it including below zero weather.
Question:	Is the Chicago pneumatic 3/8 828 strong
Answer:	For a 3/8 impact it is very strong. Compared to a good 1/2 inch impact, it doesn't come close. I use the 3/8 for tight quarters and light work. It puts out more power than a cheap 1/2 impact. I hope this helps.
