DIRECTIONS:

• Spray the surface with the product, buffing with a dry microfiber cloth in 3-foot sections
• Wipe completely dry after 1-2 minutes and allow 1 hour to cure.

The Granite Water Test

The water test is the simplest way to check if your granite needs to be sealed. Pour a small amount of water, about the size of a quarter, on different sections of your granite. Let the water sit for about 30 minutes and see if the granite absorbed the water into the stone.

If the water was absorbed by the granite, you need to reseal your granite. You can tell it was absorbed if your granite darkened.

If the water stays on top of your granite like the image to the right, your granite is protected. We still recommend applying the Granite Sealer at least once a month as a preventative measure.

You do not need to make any modifications to the hole, although you might need to adjust the strike plate slightly, depending on the size of the existing one. I bought three of these locks, and I had to adjust the strike plate recess slightly on one door frame, but had no problem with the other two door frames.

Answer:	There are many good solutions on the the internet to remove stains from marble, it just depends what caused the stain. I would recommend sealing after stain is removed to help lessen future stains. Following all product recommendations when sealing.
Question:	What area size will the sealer bottle cover
Answer:	We would really need to know more about the stain to answer that question. In many cases lemon juice will actually etch the surface. If that is the case a stone pro will probably need to get involved to polish the area out. Our Rock Doctor Sealer will prevent further staining. Question:	How often does the sealer need to be applied
Answer:	No, our cleaner will not remover the sealant once the seal is properly applied. We do recommend though that you re-seal once a year because the seal will gradually lose its efficacy over time.

Answer:	Black Diamond is an excellent product. You wipe it on your granite and it shines and is sealed. You're done. I do the process more than just once a year because it leaves such an amazing shine. I do not need any other products.

Answer:	it should, if the surface is rough it may soak up quite a bit of the product initially though. I'd bring a couple heavy duty rags to apply it evenly.

Answer:	While this product will make stone and grout resistant to water and oil stains, it will not make the product waterproof.
Question:	Does this sealer have silicone in it? I was told to find a silicone-based sealer for my honed granite countertops, but am having a hard time
Answer:	We are not aware of a good Stone or granite sealer on the market that utilizes silicone as an additive. Bulletproof is a great product for honed granite.
Question:	My granite countertops are dull and I don't know if they were ever sealed. Will this product give me the glossy granite look I am looking for
Answer:	I used two products a cleaner http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00065W8DQ/ref=wms_ohs_product?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and this and my tables came out with a nice clean and natural shine. By natural I am not talking reflective of light, a shine similiar to the way a stone looks when you take it out of the water. The two products really made my tables beautiful without making the stone look fake and laminated. If you are truly wanting a gloss, I would agree that you might need a professional to come and seal it with something that will have that high shine. However for the price you could always try this first, if you have granite or stone stuff other areas of the house you can always use this there :)

Answer:	Marble life granite or marble cleaner, it is safe on all stones, all metal, paint, wood, great for cleaning up grease with great oil emulsifiers, developed by Union Carbide over 20 years ago. available on Amazon
Question:	is it good for a quartz counter top or is a less expensive sealer just as good
Answer:	For quartz, I would recommend the Stainproof Plus. This sealer will actually penetrate quartz which is non-pourus while other sealers will not. Most quartz manufacturers advertise that quartz does not need to be sealed but we have seen some quartz products that do in fact stain. Some more than others.
Question:	How much area does it cover? How many linear feet of grout does it cover
Answer:	Depending on what you are sealing, the average coverage on a typical seal is 70sqft. Per quart.On grout sealing, again depending on the size and depth of the grout joint, we've gotten about 250 sqft out of 1 quart.
Question:	Does it work on travertine? I didn't see travertine listed on the stones it's made for
Answer:	Sorry but my experience is not good. I spent 2 days properly applying 2 coats to travertine tiles around our pool. The protection lasted for about 8 weeks only. Very disappointed. I think Stain Proof is a big waste of money and as others have said the company do not stand behind their products. Never again!

Answer:	I was told eight hours to dry by the granite installers. As far as I know, I reseal the granite every six months, if it has been taken care of with granite cleaners when needed. Hope this helps

Answer:	I'm not sure how often you actually need to use the sealer (a permanent sealer every 3-5 years is normally recommended by the installer), but I use Trinova's granite/stone cleaner and their sealer weekly. Trinova, to me, has absolutely the most top-notch products on the market. I do have to add here that their automotive care products are outstanding. I've been using Trinova's Ceramic Spray on my 20 year old sports car (instead of wax - which takes forever!) and the car looks like new!!

Answer:	Hello Nitin Yes both of these sealers are good for granite stone and grout. Both of these seal with what are called floral polymers, the only difference is that the bullet proof has more of these polymers that makes it seal more porous stones with less sealer. So the less porous the stone is it may be better to use the Heavy Duty sealer. I say this because it could be a waste of money to buy the absolute best, the stone is not that porous.

Answer:	All you need to do is make sure the grout is fully cured.. Normally 8-10 hrs should be sufficient .. The grout lines should look fully dry. Thanks for your question!

Answer:	I have clear silicone around my shower and it did not discolor or breakdown.
Question:	what are the directions for use on marble
Answer:	Thanks for your question Quicksand!Unlike Granite, Marble can be readily etched when it comes in contact with Acids. Tuff Duck is Neutral to Slightly Basic and will not etch Marble. The application instructions for Marble do not differ for Granite or Slate etc.. The difference will be the degree of porosity (or how porous) the stone is. A more porous stone will absorb more sealer than a non-porous stone. In general, marble is more porous than Granite. The directions for marble are as follows:1) Ensure a clean and dry surface, 2) Apply sealer liberally and allow to penetrate for 15 minutes (ensure the surface stays wet during this soaking period, more sealer may need to be applied during this time depending on the porosity of the stone) 3) After 15 minutes wipe up the residual sealer with a clean dry cloth.4) If any sealer was unintentionally allowed to dry on the surface leaving streaks, simply use Tuff Duck sealer on a cloth to re-wet/dissolve the streaks and dry with a cloth.The surface can come in contact with water after 6 hrs of cure time and will be fully cured in 24hrs.Thanks, I hope this helps.

Answer:	Hi there Lucy , yes Tuff Duck is indeed a penetrating sealer versus other sealers which would be called film-forming. Tuff Duck penetrates into the stone sealing the pores and the chemistry ensures a very high level of hydrophobicicity, or the ability to repel liquids ... You can see this by dripping water onto the sealed surface .. The water will bead on A surface sealed with Tuff Duck. Also Tuff Duck will not alter the natural look or Finish of the natural stone! -thanks for your question !
