Answer:	Yeah you can plane wider boards. I have not gotten good results though - either due to my lack of experience or due to the limits of the product itself, not sure. I suggest practicing on some scrap first.

Answer:	It does OK but I would practice with some scrap first. I had a 12 inch wide board and made several passes without a straight edge. I stated at a very low setting, 1/64, and made two passes to remove stain. I did have to go back and sand down some overlaping spots. Next time I would use a straight edge to keep the planer straight on each past. Hopes this helps.
