13 best coil framings

Coil framing nailers are power tools commonly used in construction and carpentry for fastening large framing materials like lumber and sheathing. These nailers are a type of pneumatic nail gun that operates by driving nails into wood or other materials using compressed air. They are a popular choice among professionals and DIY enthusiasts for their efficiency and speed in framing and sheathing projects.

Here are some key features and information about coil framing nailers:

  1. Coil Magazine: Coil framing nailers use a coil magazine to hold nails. The coil magazine allows for a larger nail capacity compared to strip nailers, reducing the need for frequent reloading. It typically holds nails in a coil or drum-like shape.

  2. Nail Size: These nailers are designed to accommodate various nail sizes, typically ranging from 2 inches to 3.5 inches in length. The specific nail size depends on the model of the nailer and the requirements of the project.

  3. Depth Adjustment: Many coil framing nailers come with depth adjustment features that allow you to control how deep the nails are driven into the material. This feature is crucial for achieving the desired level of penetration without damaging the wood.

  4. Sequential and Bump Firing: Coil framing nailers usually offer both sequential and bump firing modes. Sequential firing requires you to press the nose of the nailer against the material and then pull the trigger for each nail. Bump firing allows you to hold down the trigger and bump the nose against the material to fire nails rapidly, increasing productivity.

  5. Air Compressor Requirement: To operate a coil framing nailer, you'll need an air compressor capable of delivering the necessary air pressure and volume. The nailer is connected to the compressor via an air hose.

  6. Safety Features: Safety is paramount when using nail guns. Coil framing nailers typically have safety mechanisms such as trigger locks and safety tips to prevent accidental firing. Always follow safety guidelines and wear appropriate protective gear when using these tools.

  7. Applications: Coil framing nailers are primarily used for framing, sheathing, and other construction tasks that involve fastening large pieces of wood together. They are commonly used in residential and commercial construction projects.

  8. Maintenance: Regular maintenance is essential to keep a coil framing nailer in good working condition. This includes oiling the tool to prevent corrosion and ensuring that all safety mechanisms are functioning correctly.

When using a coil framing nailer, it's crucial to be trained and experienced in its operation to prevent accidents and ensure the quality of your work. Always read the manufacturer's instructions and follow safety precautions to use the tool safely and effectively.

User questions & answers

Question: Where is this made (country
Answer: My local Home Depot did not carry Paslode roofing nails. I had read previous reviews stating you could use other brands of roofing nails. My nailer performed flawlessly. The coils were wound too tight to go straight into the gun, so I loosened the coil and inserted them.
Question: Does this come with a “no mar” tip, if not can I buy one
Answer: Where do I get the belt hook. And how in the hell can Hitachi consider themselves a premium brand and sell a ladder access tool without one? I'm livid.
Question: can i shoot nails on concrete or cement blocks ? for furring strips
Answer: Good morning, We offer a 60 day warranty. After your first 60 days you have a one year from date of purchase directly with Hitachi. Have a great day.
Question: How long is the warranty
Answer: I use it for siding facia and soffit. The nails have to be compatable with the gun. Don't have to be Hitachi brand. lots of generic brands out there

User questions & answers

Question: will this work in a porter cable rn175b
Answer: Liz. I am not sure. That porter cable is a roofing nailer and these are for siding. I think the only difference is the head of the nail. I know a siding nailer will not shoot a roofing nail due to the head. Maybe you could go to a home improvement store and find a shorter version of these nails and see if they fit through the head of a coil nailer. I usually do trial and error of its safe. I would get the nails and put them in. If the gun jams a lot then it wouldn't work. I used these nails in my bostich n66c. Hope this helps.
Question: Will these work in a dewalt dw66c-1 battery powered siding & fencing nailer
Answer: Yes, the C4R80BDG will work with the DEWALT DW66C-1.
Question: can i use ring shank nails for hardie back siding
Answer: I used ring shanks to install siding. They hold better. Just have to adjust your air pressure or the depth of the gun so you don’t shoot the nail all the way through, just like Sheetrock I’m a sense.
Question: ia this ok for wood fence
Answer: We did use it for putting the pickets on a privacy fence. I reccomend that you have a coil gun with a depth of drive adjustment as just adjusting the pressure gave inconsistent results due to varying density of the wood. we were nailing the pickets (5/8") into 2" x 4" lumberDo not use this on cedar. Only stainless steel or aluminum nails should be used in cedar.

BOSTITCH Coil Framing Nailer, Round Head, 1-1/2 to 3-1/4-Inch (N80CB-1)

Bostitch

Based on 141 reviews Check latest price

Product description

The product is Coil Frame Nailer. Easy to use. The product is manufactured in Taiwan.

A popular model among builders who work on high-repetition projects like trusses and prefabricated frames, Bostitch's utility coil nailer offers huge capacity and solid reliability. When fully loaded, this nailer certainly isn't the lightest tool you could choose, but when you can drive 300 nails without having to reload, you quickly appreciate the timesaving capacity. With its aluminum housing and composite canister, this gun is a tough piece of equipment, designed to hold up to bumps and falls--the inevitable beating nailers take on a job site. The nailer's aggressive teeth easily grip lumber for toe-nailing. An adjustable deflector conveniently directs exhaust away from the user, and a quick-release canister makes loading new coils a snap. We were impressed with how solid the whole unit feels--it has the burliness of an industrial-strength machine. This model shoots 1-1/2- to 3-1/4-inch, 15-degree, wire-weld-collated, full-head nails, and weighs just over 8 pounds empty. Note: this model does not have adjustable drive depth. --Jonathon Tudor

User questions & answers

Question: can someone explain why the canister adjusts up to 4" nails but, it can only handle up to 3 1/4" nails
Answer: With a noise reduction rating of 21, as compared to the 22 of the popular Peltor TAC 100 model, the RangeGuard offers solid, consistent hearing protection. If you're shooting indoors, using an extremely high caliber weapon, or are surrounded by a significant amount of gunfire, your hearing may be compromised. Outdoor protection is excellent, and under most circumstances you are assured of being fully protected. After over 100 hours of use with the RangeGuard (both indoors and outdoors with a wide variety of firearms), I never experienced any kind of noteworthy shortcomings in the noise reduction of the model. As stated, under some circumstances you may feel the audio coming in a bit louder than you'd like, but the average gun owner will never need a stronger model.
Question: Can I use it for solid hardwood flooring
Answer: Yes, very easily. They even amplify sounds and make them easier to hear (but not loud noises like gunshots). They have a microphone on each earpiece so you can easily distinguish where sounds are coming from.
Question: Is this a good framing nailer
Answer: They'll only "work" if you turn them off. As someone who actually owns these headphones, no - they will not work for lawn mowers. Unless, of course, you turn them off, in which case you're paying a premium for muffs with a microphone and speakers in them. The headphones pick up all outside noise using two forward-facing microphones so that you can "hear" while you're wearing them. The cutoff circuit only engages when it picks up a sudden, sharp noise - like a gunshot, an air nailer, or a hammer blow. Continuous loud noises such as heavy equipment, power tools, saws, airplanes, etc... do not trigger the cutoff and in many instances can *amplify* the noise.
Question: Will this fit 1 1/2" or 1 3/4" roofing nails
Answer: These are teal the others are camo green. That's about it.

User questions & answers

Question: Does this gun have an air blower like the makita
Answer: The round connector is called an "F" connector. It is on all HDTV's with tuners to the best of my knowledge. If your TV has the old screw terminals you'll need a converter box if you can still find them. The cost of the converter boxes is about half of an entry level HDTV. You may find it's time to upgrade. The old TV's can't receive HDTV signals on their own. Also you might find that you have a TV without a tuner. We used to call them monitors and they were used in TV studios. In that case you will still need a converter box or you will have to replace the set.

Question: Can you use these nails for fiber cement siding
