User questions & answers

Question: Can I use L cleat 18g nails with this model
Answer: Unfortunately, this item is not compatible with L or T cleats.
Question: Will this work on 5/16 hardwood floor
Answer: I have the 61721, and it shot 2" brads through 3/4pine paneling and into pressure treated 2x4 no problem. You could easily shoot the brads too deep, i had to adjust the air down to get the heads to be near flush. I have no idea if it's a good idea, or the proper fastener for 5/16 hardwood, but I imagine the nailer is fully capable of shooting the brads with enough force, but who knows ... is an 18ga brad even strong enough to penetrate 5/16 hardwood. Maybe it will go through soft maple, but what about solid hickory? or beech? we don't know what your flooring is.
Question: Can this be used to staple artificial grass to subgrade bend a board
Answer: No it would go right through. Use a staple gun.
Question: Can be use for repair sofa
Answer: I'm not sure how you will be repairing you sofa but you can leave the flooring foot on or you can remove it and it becomes a brad nailer. Eather way for the price it is a very hand tool. Hope this helps you.

User questions & answers

Question: Can I user this for 3/8" stranded bamboo
Answer: We did an 8 by 18 with approximately half a bucket
Question: How much psi do i run this nailer on
Answer: Don't know for sure
Question: What Size plate do you use for 3/4inch flooring, This one comes with 5/16 and 1/4 in description pictures
Answer: There are many types of Stainless Steel alloys (varying the carbon steel content for corrosion resistance versus strength...). More corrosion resistant stainless steel alloys will 'generally' be a softer, weaker steel due to the alloys used- and those not used. This is generally not an issue with screws going into wood- like these ones. If however you are driving stainless steel 'tapcon style' fasteners into concrete- fastener breakage could be a factor. That said, all stainless steels I have used are much more corrosion resistant than 'plain steel' screws, more corrosion resistant than zinc plated screws, and also more corrosion resistant than galvanized screws. These #2 square drive screws are vastly superior to any of the 'lifetime warranty' coated/treated non stainless screws at the big box stores- and the square drive is much less prone to stripping than a cross recessed (ie: phillips head) screw is. BTW, stainless can and will rust in the proper environment- it is not rust proof- just far more rust resistant than all the others besides perhaps titanium.
Question: I have never used a pneumatic nail gun before. Can it be used on anything in addition to laying flooring
Answer: No, there was no bit, but screws are extremely sturdy and most importantly, these do not strip easily, even at high drill speed. They also have a cutting edge at the tip which makes fast and easy effort to screw into the wood. I ordered them 2 separate times and was very satisfied with the product.

User questions & answers

Question: can i purchase replacement baseplates
Answer: the base plate are non marring for 3/4 and 1/2 inch floors. They are made of some type of vey hard and slick plastic. I uses for prefinished 3/4 inch hardwoods. Not sure of your question, but both come with the tool and you will want one of them on when ever you are laying floors depending on the thickness of your floors.
Question: Description "non-marring base plates" are included. is that the protective foot attachment (m-4) for prefinished floors? not the same item
Answer: We installed 3" wide by 3/4" solid hardwood maple flooring with it and it worked Awesome !
Question: is it for solid harwood flooring
Answer: This tool is intended for the installation of new hardwood flooring, not to repair previously installed flooring, which squeaks, due to warping, or joist sagging. Old flooring will require some other type of repair, such as the use of screws and wood plugs to covers to them, or special ring shank nails.
Question: Will this stop creaks in an old hardwood floor
Answer: Used it to put down a large den floor, worked great! Would buy again!

User questions & answers

Question: The hammer cap is supposed to be in the up position to load, but it does not stay in the up position, just falls back down. Is my unit broken
Answer: No simple answer I was able to average > 1/8" lateral spacing with 1 x 6 cedar decking, but only by straightening each board during installation process. Deck boards all have some warp, and you cannot rely on the fasteners to hold them straight when you knock them into initial position like their video shows Forcing boards this close with tools, however, may cause uneven board surface when decking lifts above underlying joist. Sanding the finished deck resolves this issue You can buy deck board straightening tools online, but I used a homemade rig and have no experience with the online tools
Question: does this work with 2" staples? can you provide a link to buy enough staples for about 500 sf of 10" wide hickory? thx
Answer: 90. They'er not cheap.
Question: After 1000 square feet of flooring it is now jamming every other nail. Thoughts
Answer: No the small box does not. The large 4 gal. Tub does
Question: Can use 11/2" staple 15.5 gauge
Answer: The thickness of the groove is 5/32" (3.97mm) and should be cut at the center of the material thickness.

User questions & answers

Question: Can this nailer be used with bostitch fln-200 2-inch flooring l-nail
Answer: Instructions are included / real good nail gun for price- you need a bigger compressor 125psi max runs at like 90psi
Question: The description says it can install 3/8” flooring but there is no 3/8” plate included. Do you have to buy that plate separately
Answer: for 3/4 flooring, you use the 5/16 standard plate the comes on the gun already installed
Question: Where is it made
Answer: I don’t think so. It uses the flooring nails and nails them at a 45° angle. I can’t imagine what other applications it might be good for. But I am certainly no expert. This was my first time using one as well.
Question: Will this work with 9/16" bamboo flooring
Answer: The angle adapter is removable so you can use it as a regular stapler or finish nailer.

BYNFORD HARDWOOD FLOORING STAPLER NAILER (For conventional 5/8" & under T&G flooring AND SHAW type flooring groove side stapling).

Based on 264 reviews Check latest price

Product description

An economical and well made general purpose hardwood flooring stapler. Although not recommended for commercial use, this is ideal as a backup tool for the contractor, or for the person laying their own floors (way cheaper than a few days rental!) the value in this tool is hard to beat. This tool is ideally suited for floors up to 9/16\", although we recommend you check your flooring instructions to make sure the 18 gauge narrow crown staple is recommended for your floor. Some thicker harder floors (eg. Bamboo) may require a larger tool. On harder woods, we recommend using the shortest staple which meets your installation requirements. This tool has also been recently re-designed to allow it to staple down floors with the extended lower lip on the groove side which require nailing on that side (some SHAW etc). Although rated for up to 9/16\", it will work on 3/4\" for work in tight corners etc, but most 3/4\" flooring does recommend a heavier fastener. And when done your floor, you can easily switch of the nose for a standard one (included) which converts the tool to a standard narrow crown stapler/combination 18 gauge brad nailer! AND NOW INCLUDES BM PLASTIC CASE.

  • Uses standard 18 gauge narrow crown staples AND 18 gauge brad nails up to 1-9/16"
  • Shoe easily adjusts to multiple floor thicknesses
  • Designed for floors from 1/4" - 9/16" (or 3/4" in limited applications)
  • New shoe designs permits use on Shaw type groove side fastening (floor with longer lower lip on groove side)
  • Adjustable depth control for limited countersink. INCLUDES BM PLASTIC CASE

Question: Will this gun shoot staples and what gauge and length
Answer: Not sure. It does come with a 5/8 plate though.
Question: Can use 18 gauge nail cleats
Answer: It works with most common flooring nails/staples. You can get them online or Home Depot/Lowe's
Question: Has anyone used it with 18 gauge cleats? I know manual calls for 16 gauge, but does 18 work

User questions & answers

Question: at degree angle does this nailer drive the cleats at
Answer: Yes. I used it on solid oak that was about 5/16 thick. It would work better on 3/8 engineered.
Question: How well does it work on Bamboo flooring
Answer: This only does 1/4" crown (for the 3/8" flooring) and 18 ga nails. You need somthing heavier for the subflooring
Question: Well this work for oak hard wood floors
Answer: This nailer as well as all others I have used for different flooring types from 3/8" up to 3/4" have always nailed into the tongue. The bottom part of any T & G material wouldn't have enough "meat" to properly hold the material down in my opinion. This would be especially true for thinner material. Also the material below the groove is purposely milled shorter in the profile then the finished layer to allow a tight fit. I would check the installation instructions again. This stapler is made to put the staple down at an angle determined by the installed shoe through the tongue. This tool doesn't have a shoe that would work in a groove.
Question: Will this work for putting up 3/4 t&g ceiling board
Answer: Yes it ne used with 2inch staplers nails.
