Should also work on the harbor freight lathes as well as any o ther with a 1” 8tpi spindle. It also have a grub screw for lathes with reverse |

| Answer: | If your lathe has a 1" x 8tpi spindle, this will fit. It does not use and adapter so that is the only size it will fit. As HF has marketed a number of lathes with different spindles you will need to check this - 1" x 8tpi is the most common, but they have also sold a number of others. |

It will work on my Laguna Rivo 1836 if you bought it and need to sell it cheap |

| Answer: | It is slightly larger, but is drilled to fit all of the same jaws . This anniversary edition version sn2 is tapped at 1 1/4” 8tpi to fit most full sized lathes . It will not retrofit other sizes . You will need to get the non aniversery version and buy nova inserts to fit your spinal . I have a g3 as well it is tapped at 1” 8 tpi . I used it on my mini lathe . I had to buy a bulky adapter that converts it to 1 1/4 . No grub screws though . Which is bad if you run fast and have an electric break , or run in reverse . I use it for my coke jaws . So no problem, you run those slow . Sn2 tightens whith a hex screw and have a cover for the back that has indexing holes . G3 used a chuck key type tightens mechanism . At the end of the day they do the sane thing . I guess get the one that works best with your machine . If you have a full size lathe get the supernova 2 . If you have a mini lathe get a full size one :) you’ll hate life less . |

| Answer: | There are 4 different Lathe Chucks in the kit from BestEquip. The one I use opens approximately from 2 inches to 3 inches. There is a larger set that could probably go up to 4 inches. There are 2 other ones that can adjust to small. I have not used them, so I have not tried them. If you are going to use these on a lathe, I highly recommend them. Depending on how you finish the pens, you may need a buffing system. For acrylics, get a set of micro pads, they really bring the shine out. I also use a "french polish" and shellac to put a lasting hard coat on the finished product. Good luck and enjoy the lathe. |

| Answer: | The max speed you would use has more to do with the diameter and the complexity of the item on a wood lathe. If you are bowl turning I have been told a 6" bowl can be turned safely between 1000-1500 rpm by this rule, a 9" bowl at a maximum of 1000 rpm, a 12" bowl 500-750rpm and so forth. Finials could be turned at 2000 rpm. This chuck can easily handle all of that. Hope this helps. |

| Answer: | This chuck is pre-threaded at 1" 8 threads per inch. The 1642 lathe is most likely 1.25" or 1.50" and 8 threads per inch. So, most likely you will need an adapter. |

| Answer: | Yes they are self centering. I believe they can handle stock about 4 1/2 inches. I had bought a different chuck that cost almost as much as this one, but only had one set of jaws. I sent it back, and got this one. It is the best thing that I have bought for turning wooden boxes, and bowls. It seems to be very good quality at a very reasonable price. I got another set of jaws that will hold up to 8" on Amazon for $31.19. The item # is PSI Woodworking CJAWFJ2 Jumbo Flat jaws. I hope this helped. |

| Answer: | What's spinning, the wood or the chick? I'll try and help but without seeing what's going on I'm not sure I can help. Ok so the first thing your doing is rotating it on your lathe, then your tightening the hexnuts that are on the chuck 2 of them. Then your putting your wood into the chuck and tightening it fully with your chuck key. After that you should be able to bring up the tail stock and lock it in place, then turn the handle until the wood is snug in between centers. Best of luck, hope this helps. The Cole jaws are a very versatile set designed primarily for the re-chucking of bowls to remove chuck marks or to re-shape the bottom of bowls that have already been turned. The Cole Jaws come with a set of extra long mounting screws, which enables you to mount the 50mm, Step, and 100mm jaws onto the face of your Cole jaws, allowing you to do you bowl from start to finish with out changing jaws. All the facilities of the other jaw sets can be fully utilized in conjunction with the Cole jaws. These jaws more than any other really begin to explore the tremendous versatility of the Nova Chuck. A special woodworm screw (optional) can be used for initial bowl mounting. | Answer: | This lathe has a variable speed controller, so the speeds may be changed using the simple rotating knob. To provide speed ranges to suit any situation, especially for the more experienced turner, there is a three step pulley. This arrangement allows the variable speed controller to adjust speeds from 60 to 900 rpm on the low step of the pulley, 110 -1800 rpm on the 2nd step (medium), and a high speed range of 220 -3600 rpm on the the 3rd step. The belt need only be changed if you want to move to a different range of speeds. This is a very simple process. |
