User questions & answers
Question: | Besides the hammer feature is there any difference between the 251 and 252? Trying to decide which one to buy |
Answer: | at the base of the handle in the front. |
Question: | How small of a bit will it hold? I know its the largest is a 1/2" shank |
Answer: | The hammer feature is selected with a dial. |
Question: | where do i purchase the belt clip for this drill? i purchased the P1819 kit and it didnt come with the clips |
Answer: | P2 kit is identical to the M2 kit except: a) Batteries in P2 are 5AH vs 4AH in M2 b) Hard plastic case in P2 vs bag in M2. Hard plastic case hold both tools and charger. Note: 5AH batteries are exactly the same size as the 4AH batteries. 5AH batteries are 0.5oz LIGHTER than the 4AH. The 5AH are definitely the batteries to get. |
Question: | How much torque does it have |
Answer: | My drill Chuck has been binding up since new. But still usable for now.. The impacts Chuck broke internally and wouldn't lock the bits in and the impact lost all speeds except for fast... I bought a new impact and it sparked and smelled like burning plastic for the first 30 minutes. Works now without an issue.will see.. I'd go with another brand,I'm a contractor and have been using DeWalt for 20+ years.DeWalt seems to have gone down hill. Not buying again next time. |

For diy work around the house or as a quick replacement for your more rugged tools on the professional jobsite, you can’t go wrong with Ryobi. For driving fasteners and boring holes near an outlet in your workshop, the D43K is one of the top tools for the job. It puts out up to 1,600 RPM, drawing only 5.5 amps of power. This speed is affected by the variable speed trigger. This feature gives you control of the drill’s power right at your fingertips, letting you switch from hole boring to light fastener driving with ease. Take that with the drill lock-on button, and you’ll be able to hold the drill as you like for optimal control. Even more accuracy can be had with the easy grip afforded to you with the rubber overmold. This molding increases the friction between the tool and your hand, enabling greater control in slippery condition. Whether you’re a diy specialist or professional contractor, you’ll find some use for Ryobi in your tool kit and beyond.
- GRIPZONE OVERMOLD: The pistol grip of this drill has a rubber molding on it that allows for improved handling in slippery conditions
- VARIABLE SPEED TRIGGER: You can adjust the speed of the drill to suit your job just by pulling the trigger harder. This allows you to switch from drilling holes to driving small fasteners in a pinch
- FAST BIT CHANGES: The 3/8" keyless chuck allows you to make fast bit changes without any extra tools necessary
- LOCK ON FEATURE: There is a switch on the side of the tool that lets you continuously drill without having to hold the trigger. This prevents fatigue and allows for different holding options for greater stability
- BAG INCLUDED: A tool bag is included in this kit, letting you store your drill and other accessories like bits or fasteners (Not Included)
User questions & answers
Question: | Is this drill reversible |
Answer: | Have no clue right now because I just moved to Spokane Washington and it's in storage. But I built a fence and it was driving screws though a 4×4 with no problem for over a hour without a charge. |
Question: | Does this come with its own "screwdriver" pieces? Wondering if I'd need to buy them separately |
Answer: | No the brushes are not replaceable, it uses a modular non-serviceable motor. Fortunately that motor is inexpensive, a brief web search found it around $14 but would take 15 minutes more time to replace, but it may be many years before it needs replaced unless used regularly in a contractor trade. Frankly at that point in time I would just replace the whole tool since these are not expensive as bare tools. Usually on Ryobi's site when you look up a tool # like P208, you will find a link to a parts diagram PDF on a green "Manuals" tab. In this case if you examine the parts diagram for P208, you will find brushes are not listed as a separate part # because they are not replaceable. You can also see the motor part # on that diagram and use it to do a web picture search to see pics of the motor and see they are not brush replaceable. Generally speaking most if not all of Ryobi's brushed motors do not have replaceable brushes. There may be exceptions on their larger (motor) tools. Soon this issue will be at an end for new buyers because slowly Ryobi is moving their whole lineup to brushless, except some multi-tool kits aimed at lowest price possible. |
Question: | Can this drill use on concert, example bricks |
Answer: | Yes. You can flip it upside down or use it with your non-dominant hand. Feel free to use the button to reverse the drill bit spin as well! |
Question: | Will the power cord be switched out with a Ryobi variable saw |
Answer: | You can drill and drive screws with this... |

Question: | What is the rpm |
Answer: | Ha! Amazon totally let me down after I ordered this drill WAY before my guy's birthday, and then got notice after notice that it would be "delayed" until a notice finally that it wouldn't be delivered at all. But I have this drill myself, love it, and the battery charger is included! |
Question: | Are the motor brushes replaceable |
Answer: | Including: 1 x HJP003 Drill / Driver, 1 x CB121L 12 Volt Battery, 1 x 140157001 12 V Battery Charger) |
Question: | Is this reversible |
Answer: | Don't know but this thing is the perfect light weight screw gun for running around fastening towel racks to drywall and studs with 2" course thread drywall screws. I have up to 3" drill point screws and it handles them easily in wood. Wouldn't be without it. It's my most used tool. Of course, you're not going to paddle up a 5 gallon pail of joint compound with it. It's a screw gun and a fine one at that. |
Question: | is it drill only or it can drive screws as well |
Answer: | Yes |

Question: | What is the best way to store the battery when not in use |
Answer: | No it is not. |
Question: | Will the P108 battery work with the P1832 drill kit and the P720 light |
Answer: | not sure why it says that, it does require an 18v battery |
Question: | Did anyone else have their charger die just 2 months after purchase |
Answer: | yes, it is stored in the side handle. |
Question: | Does this set include the battery? The description says so but the amazon specifications says it does not |
Answer: | I would use 4-1/2" x 7/8" A/O Resin Fiber Sanding Discs, with an adhesive backing. You will also need a Backer. The backer is the piece that actually attaches to the tool. It is a rubber disc that the sanding discs stick to. The Backer will be the same measurements as the sanding disc, and the arbor will be the threaded the screw onto your tool. Larger sanding discs and larger backers are available but they may overload your tool. |
