13 best makita electric drills
Of course! Makita is a well-known brand in the tools industry, and their electric drills are among the most popular and trusted power tools in the market. Here's a rundown of what you might want to know about Makita electric drills:
Types of Drills: Makita offers a range of drills, including:
- Standard Drills: Used for regular drilling tasks. Suitable for wood, plastics, and some light metal work.
- Hammer Drills: Designed to drill into harder materials like concrete or brick. They combine rotation with a hammering action to bore through tough surfaces.
- Demolition Hammers: Primarily used for breaking down materials and are more powerful than standard hammer drills.
Corded vs. Cordless:
- Corded Drills: Typically offer consistent power but need to be plugged into an outlet. They can be more powerful and are often preferred for heavy-duty tasks.
- Cordless Drills: Provide mobility and convenience. They run on rechargeable batteries. Makita is known for its efficient battery technology which ensures longer run times and quick charging.
Features:
- Variable Speed: Many Makita drills come with variable speed controls, allowing users to adjust the RPM (revolutions per minute) based on the material they're working on.
- Brushless Motors: Some Makita drills are equipped with brushless motors which tend to be more efficient, require less maintenance, and provide longer tool lifespan.
- Built-in LED Lights: Many models have integrated LED lights to illuminate the work area, particularly useful in low-light conditions.
Ergonomics & Design: Makita places a lot of emphasis on the ergonomics of their tools. Their drills typically have comfortable grips, balanced design, and are made to reduce user fatigue, especially during extended use.
Batteries & Chargers: For their cordless range, Makita has developed batteries that are known for their long life and quick charging times. The brand often uses Lithium-Ion batteries for their cordless tools. Compatibility across various tools is also a feature, meaning a battery from one Makita tool can often be used in another.
Durability: Makita drills are built to last. They often come with features like all-metal gear construction, ensuring durability even under demanding work conditions.
Accessories: The brand offers a variety of accessories to accompany their drills, including drill bits, chucks, and more.
In summary, Makita electric drills are a top choice for many professionals and DIY enthusiasts alike due to their performance, durability, and the trust the brand has built over the years. When selecting a Makita drill, consider the nature of your tasks, whether you prefer corded or cordless, and any specific features you might need.

User questions & answers
Question: | Dose this drill have a keyed drill chuck and how many amps is this drill |
Answer: | Not sure. I use mine to pick up small leafs and does a great job. I dont think pine needles will be good. Usually you rake up pine needles. Needles don't have enough area to allow suction to work correctly. |
Question: | Is this drill reversible? and how does it compare to the dewalt dwe |
Answer: | Maybe |
Question: | I would like to know how is this item shipped? i don't have prime and i want to know is it shipped by post, fedex? hope someone can help me out here |
Answer: | It does not. You might want to check https://servicenet.portercable.com/ for example for the part you need for our FN250B. Thanks. |
Question: | who makes this drill? China? If so, does that mean its quality is suspect |
Answer: | This part doesn't come with it. I don't think there is another seal. This part when broke down may look like two parts. Look twice. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is the clutch torque setting reliable and consistent? Looking to replace great old Panasonic drills for a manufacturing assembly environment |
Answer: | I don't have any oak trees on my property, but there are oaks in my neighborhood. Unfortunately, these oaks have very large acorns; roma tomato-shaped and upwards of 1½" long and a ½" in diameter. I placed 10 of these acorns on my lawn and another 10 on a paver walkway. The TriVac could NOT vacuum the acorns up off either surface. It would lift them part way up the chute but not all the way up to the mulching impeller. Once the chute was raised off the surface, they all fell back to the ground. Just out of curiosity, and to be able to answer both halves of the question, I turned the TriVac nose up and slowly dumped all 20 acorns down the chute. It was noisy (perhaps even scary noisy) but when I looked in the bag I found all 20 acorns, including those with caps, were very well mulched. I was somewhat surprised and very impressed.I can't say if the TriVac will suck up "small" acorns, but if it will it should mulch them very nicely.I hope this helps. |
Question: | Can you remove the clip |
Answer: | It rolls very well while picking up leaves. |
Question: | Does the battery fit tightly, or when you shake the drill does the battery feel loose |
Answer: | You need an extension cord. |
Question: | Does this have the trigger with variable speed |
Answer: | I would guess Amazon or buy directly from the manufacturer. |

Question: | Which one is better the fix spped or the variable speed to bore large holes |
Answer: | Hi, yes it can grind wet leaves. You may check other details of the unit by visiting our website pyleaudio.com. Type the model number on the search box PSLHTM34 for more details. Thank you. |
Question: | How much time can i have it working with no problems in the drive motor? 2 h? 4 hours |
Answer: | If you are asking for a long power cord, No. (and you know it shouldn't, otherwise the tool would have a very bulk cable attached....) The tool itself has a short cord about 2ft long, you definitely need an general power extension cord to make it work. You can choose whatever length that suit your need. Also make sure the wire gauge is capable of delivering 12A. |
Question: | regarding ds4011 and ds4012, so what situations you use fix speed over variable speed or visa versa |
Answer: | The replacement bags appear to be available at the worx.com website & currently in stock for $19.57. Here's the link: https://www.worx.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=debris+collection+bag+replacement |
Question: | Are both handles removable |
Answer: | Yes, there is a lever that you flip that changes the direction of the air flow. You do not have to remove the bag when changing from vacuum to blower mode. Hope this helps. |

Question: | Does anyone know if this tool is still made in Japan or has it been moved to China these days |
Answer: | You can if the drill bit fits into the chuck. |
Question: | Does the trigger have a button to hold the trigger down hands free |
Answer: | The only model going to be sent to you is the 110 volt, they have a wrong specs on the page saying it is 240 volt. Don’t be decisived by the inaccuracy of the description of this hammer |
Question: | How much torque is produced by this drill |
Answer: | I would recommend the variable speed for drilling large holes. I 7se mine for mixing alot and for drilling larger 5 3/4" holes through up to 12 in depth in pine. With drilling you don't always want 100%power all the time this gives you the best of both worlds. |
Question: | Will this plug in and run off a normal US 110 outlet? It says 127 volts |
Answer: | I've used mine on job after job day after day never have had an issue with with but have not used it content for 2 or 4 hours solid run time our work day is 8 to 10 hours a day I do know they have a great warranty on Makita drills have not had to use the warranty yet. |

User questions & answers
Question: | amazon lists the orgin for this tool as Japan. Is this still true or it now made in China like most drills |
Answer: | The brushless CXT hex drill/driver is model DF032DZ. It's not sold in North America but you can order it from stores in the UK for about $150 shipped (bare tool). It's sold on Amazon UK. 280 inch-pounds and a fatter but shorter head to fit tighter spaces. |
Question: | Does it come with a rugged case |
Answer: | Makita 763198-1 keyless chuck. I had a similar Milwaukee chuck version and it made the driver front-heavy and unbalanced. I settled for drill bits with 1/4" hex shanks which wobbled. This tool is a really good screwdriver and not much of a drill. |
Question: | Can you use this on wood, masonry, or steel |
Answer: | Yes |
Question: | Is the side handle removable |
Answer: | An air hammer would work better. |
