Answer:	Unless you are planning on welding something directly onto the table, I cannot see why you would be causing your table to melt. The purpose of the table is simply to conduct the current into a separate piece of weldable material, which does not create heat in the table itself. The amount of inductive heat created by welding material NEAR the tabletop will not be adequate to cause any damage, unless you are welding extremely thick metals for extended, sustained arc duration. In that case, this hobby-table is not likely to be sufficient for you.
