3 best cordless drill lithium ion battery
Cordless drills with lithium-ion batteries are popular power tools used in various applications, and they are often included in combo kits that offer a range of tools for different tasks. Here's what you need to know about cordless drills with lithium-ion batteries:
Power Source:
- Cordless drills operate on rechargeable lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries, providing a convenient and portable power source. Lithium-ion batteries are favored for their high energy density, lightweight design, and resistance to the "memory effect" seen in some older battery technologies.
Voltage:
- The voltage of the lithium-ion battery determines the power and torque of the cordless drill. Common voltages for cordless drills range from 12V to 20V or higher.Higher voltage generally means more power for heavy-duty tasks.
Compact and Lightweight:
- Lithium-ion batteries are known for their compact and lightweight design. This characteristic makes cordless drills with lithium-ion batteries more maneuverable and less tiring for users during extended use.
Quick Charging:
- Lithium-ion batteries typically offer quick charging times compared to other battery types. This allows users to spend more time working and less time waiting for batteries to charge.
Longer Runtime:
- Cordless drills with lithium-ion batteries often provide longer runtime per charge compared to older battery technologies. This is beneficial for tasks that require extended periods of tool use.
Durability:
- Lithium-ion batteries are durable and have a longer lifespan compared to some other rechargeable batteries. They can endure multiple charge and discharge cycles, making them suitable for frequent use.
No Memory Effect:
- Unlike some other rechargeable batteries, lithium-ion batteries do not suffer from the memory effect. This means users can recharge the battery at any state of charge without affecting its overall capacity.
Power and Torque:
- Cordless drills with lithium-ion batteries are available in various power and torque levels to suit different applications. Higher voltage drills are generally more powerful and suitable for heavy-duty tasks, while lower voltage drills are ideal for lighter applications.
Variable Speed and Clutch Settings:
- Many cordless drills with lithium-ion batteries feature variable speed settings and adjustable clutch settings. This allows users to tailor the tool's performance to the specific requirements of each task, providing precision and control.
Combo Kits:
- Cordless drills with lithium-ion batteries are often part of combo kits that include other power tools. These kits offer users a versatile set of tools for a range of tasks, providing good value for those looking to build their tool collection.
When considering a cordless drill with a lithium-ion battery, it's important to assess the tool's voltage, features, and any additional tools included in combo kits. Understanding the specific needs of your projects will help you choose a drill that suits your requirements.

User questions & answers
Question: | What is the mAh capacity of the 20volt lithium ion battery |
Answer: | It does not work outside during the day. For that reason I returned mine for a full refund |
Question: | Does it has light |
Answer: | I have this amp. been going good and had it for 2 years. doesnt get hot. but i do knnow if you dont have a thick enough gauge of wire to supply current to any amp it will heat up a bit. but if that doesnt work it is possible it could be defected. I also upped my power fuse to 80 amps from 60 amps and it helped a lot. fuses on amp itself never blew for me because protective circuit would shut off amp when I push it. I push it and it just keeps goin. i would make sure its also grounded properly. make sure there is no nicks or cut in power wire and make sure there is no chance of metallic dust that would get on positive terminal to amp(depending on what type of work you do) |
Question: | Do you have a battery charger for a 20v lithium-zion genesis drill |
Answer: | My husband said no. The amp won't overheat it it may blow your subs. He said he rarely runs his at full power. |
Question: | I have it fully charged and it won’t work..ideas |
Answer: | There is ports for speakers but I think you may want to step up to the next model because you may want a little more power for the sound and thump you want. Not putting that amp down, its good just not strong enough. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does the charger support 220W |
Answer: | agreed with the other answer, if you mean 220v you won't have a charger or battery if it's on the charger at the time. |
Question: | Anyone know how wide the chuck will open on the drill |
Answer: | The chuck on the drill is a 1/2” chuck.. meaning it will open 1/2”. It is rated for drilling up to 1/2” holes in steel, and up to 1-7/16” holes in wood |
Question: | How come the item is 50% off? What warranty do you provide for us if we have a problem? Half off is a great deal |
Answer: | It’s not the newest model. However it’s light works well and saves time. New cutting edge products do not normally offer discounts. I’m happy with mine. Tale advantage of the deal. Buy it |
Question: | I've now received 2 of these from Amazon. There is noticeable wobble of the drill bit in the impact driver and a lesser, but still noticeable wobble in the drill. How common is this |
Answer: | I've also just received 2 of these with wobbly chucks, primarily with the impact driver as you pointed out. The wobble is even apparent before putting a bit in the chuck. Did you ever find a suitable replacement for these in lieu of these Makita Subcompacts? I originally had my eye on a set of brushless Dewalts but was scared away by some similar complaints of a wobbly chuck. One reviewer recommended these Makita drills, which he specifically called out as not having this problem, which is obviously not the case from my experience. I'd be curious to hear of other, nice alternatives to these drills if you know of any. Thanks. |
