Answer: I totally agree with the answer given by Wayne Smith. The holding surfaces (corrugations) is quite minimal on these small heads, and at 6000 or 9000 rpms on many shapers it would not be safe.
Question: Can this head be used on 1/2" shaft with a bushing
Answer: Depending on your machine & rpm options, I suppose it would be ok. Your best bet would be to check with woodstock directly. It is a very nice head with good balance. Do not over tighten!
