11 best wet saw for glass
A wet saw for glass is a specialized tool designed for cutting glass tiles, glass sheets, or other glass materials. Unlike traditional saws, a wet saw uses water to lubricate and cool the cutting blade, reducing friction and minimizing the risk of chipping or cracking the glass. Here are some key features and aspects associated with wet saws for glass:
Diamond Blades: Wet saws for glass typically use diamond blades. Diamond is extremely hard and can effectively cut through glass without causing excessive heat or damage. The water used in the sawing process helps to keep the diamond blade cool.
Water Cooling System: The water cooling system is a critical feature of a wet saw for glass. It serves multiple purposes, including cooling the diamond blade to prevent overheating, reducing friction, and minimizing dust. The water is usually circulated over the cutting area during operation.
Precision Cutting: Wet saws are known for their ability to provide precise and clean cuts on glass materials. The water-cooling system contributes to smoother cuts and helps prevent the glass from cracking or shattering during the cutting process.
Adjustable Settings: Many wet saws come with adjustable settings, allowing users to customize the depth and angle of the cut. This flexibility is particularly useful for various applications and projects.
Sturdy Construction: Wet saws are typically constructed with durable materials, including corrosion-resistant components, to withstand the constant exposure to water during operation.
Safety Features: Some wet saws are equipped with safety features, such as blade guards and splash guards, to protect the user from water splashes and debris during operation.
Portable Options: There are portable or handheld wet saws designed for smaller projects or tasks that require more flexibility in terms of movement.
Application: Wet saws for glass are commonly used in applications such as tile installation, glass crafting, and other projects where precise and clean glass cuts are essential.
When using a wet saw for glass, it's important to follow safety guidelines, wear appropriate protective gear, and use the right blade for the specific type of glass being cut. Additionally, users should ensure that the water reservoir is adequately filled to maintain effective cooling throughout the cutting process. Always refer to the user manual for specific instructions and recommendations for the particular wet saw model you are using.

User questions & answers
Question: | this saw comes w/a diamond blade. would it be good enough to cut little glass mosaic tiles or should I order a different diamond blade |
Answer: | The blade will cut through the glass tiles just fine, however, I would suggest purchasing a thinner more durable blade. I purchased a Ridgid 7" blade from Home Depot. The Ridgid blade make cleaner cuts and wastes less material because it is a thinner blade. Also, Skil just came out with a new updated model of this saw. I would suggest purchasing that saw instead because it has some much needed improvements. Here is some information on the new saw: https://www.skiltools.com/Tools/Pages/ProductDetail.aspx?model=3550-01. |
Question: | What is the biggest size of tile this saw can be used for to do diagonal cuts |
Answer: | am sure you can cut even 24x24 in. tile. to cut straight get 1x1x 20--24 in, wood and clamp under the table as your guide to cut straight, hope this will help. skil power tools are great and cheaper than MK |
Question: | Would this be a good saw to cut rocks in half |
Answer: | Depends on the size of the rock. The material is not an issue -- I use it to cut agates and quartz up to a couple inches in size. The important thing is to go slow and make sure to keep the cut wet. |
Question: | Will this saw cut peanut brittle? We are currently struggling with the batch we just made and we need to find a good way to cut it |
Answer: | i'M SORRY, BUT NO THIS WILL NOT CUT THE BRITTLE. this saw was designed for tile, brick and old tootsie rolls only. the reason tht is, the hamsters in the the motor are allergic to peanuts and a few other foods. seeing as how we all love fluffy hamsters, they gave them work instead of turning them away( that and hamsters have a ton of kids!!). the saw you are looking for has gophers in the drive motor( 2 x's the power for those thick piece's of brittle), that have been thoroughly screened for any deadly allergies to tree nuts and dairy, not to mention sock puppets and shoe polish as well. i do suggest that if you are going to buy the gopher powered brittle slicer 3000xlr made by Skill'dG( skilled gophers), to make sure you are getting the real thing, and not a cheap australian clone. contact the gopher union work force development office and they will give you a list of all non gopher supported and wallaby knock offs and a wallet sized card for easy recognition of their branded products. They may ask for a donation, but it's well worth the $120 to join their non members club. You get free holes in your green, and much, much more. Good luck on your quest, and may the spork be with you. |

It's also a great tool for coral fragging. The saw body has a small footprint and is manufactured with rustproof, lightweight, structural-grade thermoplastic, making this band saw machine very portable and easy to travel with. Its 1/6th hp, 115v permanent magnet DC motor is variable speed, delivering speeds from 800rpm to 3,400rpm. The gravity-feed, coolant system delivers clean water to the band saw blade, keeping your blade properly lubricated while you saw. Integrated internal drain channels and drain tubes collect and funnel excess, dirty water away from the blade to prevent it from re-circulating throughout the saw. Its corrosion-resistant work surface measures a generous 9" X 12". This DB-100 band saw includes: 37.7" (96cm) stainless steel diamond band saw blade, complete instructions, and one-year manufacturer warranty. All of our Inland band saw machines are brand new, shipped, and manufactured in the U.S.A. We ensure the authenticity of this product by us, the manufacturer. IMPORTANT PURCHASING NOTES: Maximum cutting material thickness is 3" for rocks/minerals, 1" for solid glass slabs, and 3" diameter for glass bottles. Band saw machines are optimized for cutting shapes and curves, so there is a large amount of "travel" in the band saw blade, which is necessary for cutting these shapes and curves. It is not designed to be used for cutting thick slabs of rough. If you are looking to cut thick slabs of rocks and minerals, we suggest a fixed-blade saw machine such as the Hi-Tech Diamond 6" Trim saw or Hi-Tech Diamond 10" Slab saw than this band saw machine.

User questions & answers
Question: | how thick will this cut |
Answer: | I would say 1:4, if you are cutting porcelain that thick take it slow, natural stone will cut easier. I highly recommend this saw, I use it for small jobs, it’s really great in tight spaces. In my opinion it’s the better of the smaller wet saws as I prefer a rolling table for more accurate cuts. I however use an MK on my bigger jobs and large format tile and stone and it’s a beast with no limitations but cost about 10x what this saw cost. I do a lot of baths and kitchens and I love it! |
Question: | Alway problems substituting other brand blades - and can't find PC replacement blades - can anyone confirm good to excellent substitute |
Answer: | I've tried several after market blades with this saw. The problem I've experienced is the original PC blade produces a slightly wider cut, allowing the tile to get past the guard support in the back. The blades I've tried produce a thinner cut that prevent the tile from passing around the guard support. I'll try the Pearl P4 7 inch to see if it works, although 50$ is a gamble I'd rather not bet on. |
Question: | Can this saw cut glass tiles |
Answer: | It can cut glass but without buying a blade specifically for glass tiles you might be disappointed. Every tile installer I know has several different blades always on hand for the abundance of materials thrown at him. Glass Master is a good glass blade and manual cutters often do excellent. With the stock blade you will get some chipping along the cut. Which could be polished out with extra effort. If you can handle chipping go for it. |
Question: | Does this saw do miter cuts? Can you angle the blade, or the table |
Answer: | Yes, this table saw does simple mitre cuts. The blade is fixed. The table is fixed (does not angle for a compound mitre cut). The product is positioned on the (right) cutting cart that feeds the tile to the blade. The saw comes with a miter square for basic angle cuts. |

User questions & answers
Question: | I have the large dewalt d2400 tile saw but need something small for smaller cuts on tile. this saw look dry. will it work on time |
Answer: | i will assume you mean, "will this saw work with tile?" yes. i bring this saw to all my tile jobs. it cuts without water, and is a must have when doing large tile, 12 x24 and greater. i use the saw for small cuts. outlets, corners, etc. it works well, and should be with every tile job. i would not suggest using it for every cut, you could but that is what the traditional wet saw is for. buy it. it's good to have.... don't be stupid... wear your safely glasses and hearing protection. when your old, feeding the birds is awesome! especially if you can see and hear them!!! |
Question: | Can a diablo 5 inch fiber cement blade fit? originally the blades are for circular saws. but will a 5 inch circular saw fit this tool |
Answer: | That blade is rated at a max of 12000 rpm's. This saw would put it right up to or above that. Probably better off using that blade on a wood cutting circular saw. |
Question: | Can I use with water |
Answer: | Yes, but with limits. I keep the tile wet with a spray bottle. Keeping itwet, but not submerged like a wet saw. Hope this helps. I've cut 1 1/4 inch thick granite using this method ....... It works really. |
Question: | What is difference between this Makita 4100NHX1 and the Makita 4100NH |
Answer: | From Makita's website it look like the 4100NHX1 is only 9.6 amps vs 12 amps for the 4100NH. Kinda makes sense as the 4100NH is a little more expensive. |

User questions & answers
Question: | I think I'm sold on the blade. Any recommendations for the saw itself |

This particular running shoe from Nike is from Indonesia, a country located off the coast of mainland Southeast Asia in the Indian and Pacific oceans. It is an archipelago that lies across the Equator and spans a distance equivalent to one-eighth of Earth's circumference. It is in no way related to the People's Republic of China. |
Question: | Where is this blade made |
Answer: | This shoe was low quality and had hole in a little over a month. |
Question: | How thick is the blade |
Answer: | They tie |
