Answer:	This is an aggressive drill bit. It dosent make the cleanest holes. But i must say that these are the best bits ive ever used. If you need a hole in wood...it makes it

Answer:	These bits would likely work but be aware that these bits are VERY aggressive and they can easily twist off line. I typically only use these bits for drilling through joists to run wires or plumbing. I've been pulled off a ladder drilling into 2 x 8 Douglas fir joists using these bits with a corded Milwaukee Magnum hole shooter drill motor. Cedar is very soft and the potential to tear the cedar up exists due to the aggressive nature of the Max Speed bits. You don't mention what diameter hole you need to drill and the smaller diameter Speedbor bits are better behaved than the larger diameter bits. If you need a neater, cleaner hole I'd suggest using a Forstner bit with a drll bit extension. Forstner bits are designed to make very clean, flat bottom holes. The Max Speed bits will leave an ugly exit hole in soft wood if you go too fast. Since you want to go clean through, whatever bit you use, proceed slowly until the starter point of the drill bit just comes out of the other side of the wood. Then flip the work piece and use the small hole to center the bit and drill the other way to prevent tear out. I presume by "6" hole clear through" you mean a hole 6 inches deep. If that is the case, you will need a drill bit extension because the active length of the Irwin Speedbor bits in only about 4 1/2 inches, maybe a tad more if you short chuck the bit. If you have access to s drill press, use that if you can with these bits and use a low bit speed and work slowly and carefully. I have a lot of respect (read that as a bit of fear as well) for these bits because the flutes are really sharp and they motor through most wood almost dangerously fast if you aren't careful. Answer:	I have the Hammer Drill. I use other brand bits just like this one and it’s fine. I recently used a 9/16 version of this bit with my hammer drill and no issues. To be fair, I don’t use the hammer function though. I just ordered the 3/4 from my drill.
