Question:	how would this be to use on a whetstone meant for oil? to sharpen a straight razor
Answer:	In the past 3 in One was my preferred method for keeping my sharpening stone 'whet'. But for the past few years the 3 in One company must have changed their blend and for all the things I used to use it for... I no longer do. This stuff is 50+ cents an ounce, so I found a MUCH better product for only 14 cents per ounce AND you can buy it in different consistencies. I now use 100% Synthetic oil, any brand you like, Pennzoil, rotella, mobile, edge... A gallon is under $17 and the 5 quart is around $20. Use an old 3 in 1 can or find one of those old metal finger pump cans. Just break away 3 ounces from your 5 QT jug and put it in an old eye dropper and do your own tests. Squeaks, Rust, Slides, Hinges, Gears on your machines, Garden Saws, Shovels, Bicycles, Padlocks, etc. I hope someone can come back and advise about using Synthetic as Gun Oil.

Answer:	It smells like victory. Seriously, I've only ever had to use a drop or less at a time, so I never noticed any odor. Certainly it's not overpowering, if it has one, since it was thus far unnoticeable. I've never known our home to be without a can of this on the shelf, and it lasts for years. Question:	Is this product made from mineral oil
Answer:	Works for anything semi auto. Bolt action would work similar.
Question:	Will this ever expire
Answer:	yes. after you clean using the bore cleaner. I use a Hoppes Bore Snake and what i do is put solvent right in front of the brush in an area about 2 inches soaking it liberally and then down on the end of the "loop" i put a liberal amount of Hoppes #9 synthetic blend soaking about a one inch area on both sides of the loop about half way up each side of the loop and pull through. leaves my barrel looking perfect every time in just one pull.
Question:	what type of oil is used
Answer:	It's a high quality synthetic which is basically distilled oil. Perhaps blended with the regular Hoppe's

Answer:	Pellgunoil is NOT a synthetic oil (all it is, is non-detergent Automatic Transmission Fluid aka ATF) and can NOT be used in Spring Type (usually "Break Barrel", "Sidelever") or Gas Ram air rifles because they use Seals that are Synthetic and not rubber or Nitrel. You MUST use Synthetic lubricant in those types. Pellgunoil is ONLY for CO2 and Pump type (like a Crosman 760) Air Rifles (BB or Pellet). Before using ANY lubricant on your Air Rifle (BB or Pellet), read the instruction manual for recommendations, the manufacturer didn't put it in the box with your air gun for packing, it's meant to be READ. One last thing NEVER EVER use WD40 on ANY gun, air or not, it is a "penetrate" and dissolves many types of plastic, synthetic rubber compounds and adhesives.
