Below you can find our editor's choice of the best snap on torque wrench on the marketProduct description
Setting the tool requires only fingertip force since the adjustment mechanism is not under load. There is no need to 'work in' a C series torque wrench before using it the first time. Split-Beam Click Wrenches overcome many of the problems associated with micrometer-style clock wrenches in abusive environments.
- Nickel/Chrome finish with ergonomic grip
- Tool does not have to be 'turned down' after use, providing convenience. The length also provides the needed reach for those-hard-to-get-at places.
- Torque setting locks on adjustable wrenches for repetitive applications
- Adjustment knob eliminates spring tension, so setting torque on adjustable wrenches is fast and easy

User questions & answers
Question: | What is the length of this wrench, fron the center of the drive to the end of the handle |
Answer: | From centerline of the 1/2-square drive to the end of handle, 18-3/16 inches (462 mm). Additional measurements: total length: 19 inches (483 mm), and length of plastic case: 25 inches (635 mm). The case is longer than needed for this wrench, possibly another longer model fits the length better (it still fits correctly, so a good case fit regardless). |

We seek out the best subcontractors and suppliers in the U.S. and across the world, focusing on wherever we can find the best partners to make the best tool. Country of origin is listed on each tool's product page. At this time, less than 10 percent of our tools are made in China, 15 percent in the United States, and about 75 percent in Taiwan. We challenge ourselves and those we work with to increasingly higher standards of rigor, precision, and creativity. And, in the end, we bring you a tool that’s designed and engineered better and more intentionally than anything else out there.” |
Question: | Does it have a headphone jack |
Answer: | There is a switch that allows you to reverse the direction but this should not be used to "break loose" a previously tightened bolt, only to back off something you're working on. As for the pipe question, yes, that is fine as long as you are still able to feel the click. Torque is torque whether you apply 1 pound 250 feet away or 250 pounds one foot away. |

Question: | For a weekend mechanic who does brake jobs, suspension work and engine repairs, would I be better off with a wrench with a 150 ft lbs limit |
Answer: | Ford technican here. A 150 ft lb torque wrench would be fine for a weekend mechanic. There isn't a lot that requires more than 150 ft lbs unless your replacing axles, doing drivetrain work or internal engine/transmission work. But on the other hand, it isn't going to hurt to have the larger capacity wrench just in case you do happen do take on a larger job. |
Question: | Does this come with a current Calibration certification |
Answer: | Yes, this item comes with all the applicable certs. |
Question: | Where is this wrench manufactured |
Answer: | Manufactured by CDI out of City of Industry, California. On the wrench itself it states Made in the USA. With US and Foreign Parts. |
Question: | Snap-on means the socket snaps on rite? Because its not a Snap On brand wrench |
Answer: | Hard to say. I think it must be a Snap On product. The instruction booklet labels it as "A Snap On Specialty Tool Product". It's an excellent torque wrench and comes with a hard plastic case for storage. When you use it, don't forget that you have to press the button on the back of the head to release the socket. |

User questions & answers
Question: | how long is this wrench |
Answer: | 2.5 x 3 x 16 inches |
Question: | How would this be set if I require 76ft-lbs torque |
Answer: | Hello, Please turn knurled handle until its top edge is even with the horizontal “70” mark on main scale and the “0” mark on micrometer scale is centered on vertical line of main scale. The micrometer-scale divides the main scale markings into 10 divisions. Every micrometer-scale marking equals 1 ft.-lb. To increase torque from 70 to 76, turn the micrometer handle clockwise until the "6" mark is centered on the vertical line of the main scale. Regards, |
Question: | many low torque wrench has little sound at low torque, does this one make click sound at 50inlbs below |
Answer: | The click is audible, but only just. My first bolt I torque with this, I was expecting a "THUNK" like the ft-lb cousin, but considering the torque we're working with is extremely low, the less than audible "THUNK" should be expected. When using this one, go slow, and rely more on the feel than the sound, as you'll get a "THUNK" you can feel in your hands when you get to the required spec. |
Question: | Where is torque wrench made |
Answer: | Hello, The LX-184 Developed, Designed and Warranted by LEXIVON USA - Manufactured and Certified in Taiwan under our strict quality standards & supervision. Regards. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does any use this in a a professional daily application? Looking for a good review from someone who uses it almost daily |
Answer: | If you can get in there with a channel lock then this would work |
Question: | suitable socket set for tekton 24330 torque wrench |
Answer: | Most likely this is too large. This fits filters 3-3/8 inch to 5-1/2 inch. If your filter is smaller, go with the 12-inch model oil filter pliers, part number 5866. |
Question: | Does this work for reverse-threaded applications |
Answer: | The description saids up to 5.5 inches. |
Question: | Are the letters/numbers on the handle etched, painted, or engraved on the wrench? If painted on, seems like they will come off before too long |
Answer: | It DEPENDS on which wrench you're talking about. There are two sizes here, yet the same questions, answers, and reviews show up for BOTH wrenches. I bought the 16" wrench, thinking it would be good for all of our family vehicles, since it's advertised to fit filters "up to 5½ inches." Very misleading. This has a channel-lock mechanism with three stops. At the SMALLEST stop, I measure a gap of 3 3/8" between opposing teeth with it closed as far as it will go. At that size, it's not going to get much of a grip on a stubborn 3½' filter, if there is such a size. Forget about using it on a 3" filter. This is going to fit my truck's filter, but NONE of our cars, whose filters are only 3 inches in diameter. Check your filter size. If it's less than 3½ inches, go for the smaller wrench. |

User questions & answers
Question: | What are the sizes of the bits |
Answer: | Amber,There are only a few bits in the set, including some uncommon bits that are not included in most sets of 1/4" bits.Between the bits in the set and other 1/4" bits that I have (also readily available online or in stores) I have never had any problem matching a bit to a screw. It is a great value and would have saved me much more money than its cost, if I had bought it before my first attempt to tighten or re-mount any scope.V |
Question: | How many pounds for mini14 gas block screws |
Answer: | 30 inch-pounds. They may be staked, so you may need to get replacement screws. Also important to use a feeler gauge to make sure gap is even on both sides, and Blue Locktite on the screws. |
Question: | May I assume that this is a 1/4" drive |
Answer: | It comes with a 1/4 inch drive adapter. |
Question: | Anyone else find it nearly impossible to pull back on the adjustment part (bottom of the handle)? Maybe mine is defective |
Answer: | Thank you all for your input on this!! I was struggling between this and a regular torque wrench, which is half the price, goes from 20 to 200 on adjustment, and is only 10" long!! Add a 1/4" socket to it, and use any bit you would like!! Easy to adjust it, and I'm sure I might need more that 65 in. # setting one of these days!!! Really thanks for taking the time to let people know these quirks!!! |

Question: | What is the NSN for this tool |
Answer: | I don't know what NSN stands for, sorry. |
Question: | where is this manufactured |
Answer: | I looked closely and could not find any markings. It is only marked "USA Professional" with an engraved serial number. I can tell you this is a fine tool. It is chrome plated (no greenish tint as pictured) and comes with a certificate of calibration, dated and initialed by a technician. I also checked the instructions included with the wrench and could not find any origin for the maker. It is made for the Stanley Corporation and they have locations in the US, but not sure about the maker origin. I am sure you would be happy with this wrench as I have been. |
