Question: | does it have mm marking or only inch |
Answer: | Mine has both. Inches on one side and mm on the other. |
Question: | Where is it made |
Answer: | Spain, same as Snap-on’s version |
Question: | Why is this not available for shipping to California? Its a normal adjustable wrench |
Answer: | Hi, Some items are unable to be shipped to California because of proposition 65. It requires businesses/manufacturers to provide warning labels on products to Californians about significant exposures to chemicals that cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. These chemicals can be in the products that Californians purchase, in their homes or workplaces, or that are released into the environment. Amazon has this in their help section as well. Tools: California requires the following notice: WARNING: Some dust created by power sanding, sawing, grinding, drilling, and other construction activities contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. Some examples of these chemicals are: lead from lead-based paints, crystalline silica from bricks and cement and other masonry products, and arsenic and chromium from chemically treated lumber. Your risk from exposure to these chemicals varies, depending on how often you do this type of work. To reduce your exposure, work in a well-ventilated area and with approved safety equipment, such as dust masks that are specially designed to filter out microscopic particles. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is this made in the US |
Answer: | No, bahco was purchased by usa based snap-on but this particular wrench was made in Spain and as far as I know still is. |
Question: | Can you order just a replacement jaw |
Answer: | Yup sure can. Just amazon search "bahco 9071 replacement jaw" and it'll come up. Though it may or may not be an item that is always available and 3 are currently in stock from what I just saw so if you feel like you may be a little more prone to losing or breaking it (which I'm industrial refrigeration tech and put mine through some serious abuse and have never lost or broken a jaw), you might want to go ahead and order one so in the event of it breaking or getting misplaced you've got it in hand and ready to go. Hope this helps. |
Question: | Does this actually grip round stock only having teeth on one side or is the teeth part all hype |
Answer: | I've had the 8" version for years. If your "handy" with wrenches it will grip round stock. I've used mine on carbon steel, brass, copper, and other materials. Depends on user, not as good as pipe wrench, but very useful on your person overall. |
Question: | What is the full open width of 10” wide mouth |
Answer: | Approximately 50mm. |

Bahco's Scientific 11-Step Ergonomic Design Program
Its purpose is to provide the foundation for ergonomic product development. It consists of pre-studies for each product idea, with emphasis on the ergonomic survey - a series of interviews to obtain insights into the tasks performed with the tool, looking at how it is handled, who uses it, and in what kind of environment.
Second phase of the process is experiment.
It starts with a prototype design that is then tested by users and those test results analyzed. This leads to a new series of prototypes that are put through user tests and analysis again. The number of design and test rounds varies, depending on a number of factors.
Last phase of the process is define.
At the end of this phase, conclusions are made and a successful product prototype can move to the last phase, themed as define. At this point the final design proposal is made based on all the studies and tests made in previous two phases, and the product specifications and other necessary documents are prepared for the product to be ready for introduction.
Each ergonomic Bahco tool is developed by following the Bahco Ergo Process thoroughly. Bahco's design manager certifies that the process has been correctly followed and that the research for the tool has been performed accordingly. User questions & answers
Question: | Is this product made in Sweden or Spain? Thanks |
Answer: | New ones are now made in Spain, and is stated on the product info page |
Question: | What is the width of the jaws? I'm thinking of using it as a cone wrench for bicycle repair |
Answer: | First if all you will love this wrench, adjustable jaw 1 1/4, alligator jaw 3/4 tapered to 1/4 works great. I've been able to grab 1/4 head sheet metal screws |
Question: | So what makes these particularly better than other adjustable wrenches |
Answer: | Short handle with wide mouth, let's you take up the slack in nuts or pipe fittings quick before getting out the big pipe or torque wrench.... Great fit, finish and Laser etched scale are just a bonus. I never go to sea without my fishtailed bahco 😉 |
Question: | Is this product still made in Sweden? Thanks |
Answer: | Interesting question. I had assumed it was, because I lost my treasured wrench and was so delighted to find a replacement on Amazon. The one I received has the same look and feel and it has the Bhaco Fish logo, but it does not say Made in Sweden. There is no Country of mfg. stamped on it. It is excellent quality, same as my old one. The jaw position is held nicely without a lot of slop and the wrench is thin (as compared to Crescent), just like the old one. I'm very pleased. |

Question: | where is this made |
Answer: | Bacho has manufacturing facilities across Europe. |
Question: | Is bahco 143 same as pwz |
Answer: | I was able to do a side by side comparison with one of the fabricators in our shop. The ONLY difference was the PWZ3 had a slightly more course thread for the adjustment nut. Everything else was 100 percent identical. Well the SnapOn also has a rubberized coating on the grip area where the Bacho does not. I’m extremely happy with the one pair of these I bought and will be purchasing more. |
Question: | Bought 3 of these just broke one is there a warranty |
Answer: | No clue never broke up one |

Question: | Is this 6” or 8”? Everything says 6” but there is a Amazon box saying this is 8” and the 6” is |
Answer: | I’m not a 100% sure but I think the 6” was more than the 8” it was a couple of years ago but it’s a nice wrench |
Question: | How thick are the jaws? I need to a thin profile wrench, something less than |
Answer: | The jaw thickness tapers from 7/16" at the base to 7/32" at the tip.The thickest part of the head measures 1/2". |
Question: | Where is this made |
Answer: | I have no idea where it is made but I agree about the quality. I give mine quite a hard time. If you prefer the R/H type of shifter/adjustable spanner you have to order the 9029 'R' which has the thumb screw with the right hand thread. I had one a long time ago and someone thought they would do me a favour and clean it with a chemical spray and destroyed the soft handle. I had quite a bit of trouble finding the 9029 R. Everywhere was selling the 9029 which is the left hand screw. I bought one and ended up giving it away because it drove me nuts. Some people prefer the left hand ones. Whichever hand you prefer, order it and you won't be disappointed.Hope this helps |
Question: | The part number is for the 6" model but under size it says 8". if i order this 9029 R am i going to get the correct wrench? i want the 6" one |
Answer: | The description has changed since I ordered my last one. The 9029R should only be a 6" as you stated. Amazon should correct this... |
