Answer:	Yost vises website says it comes with a 1 year warranty. My vice split in half length-wise 4 inches long, toward the jaws, the first time I used the anvil platform. Unfortunately, it was 2 years after purchase. Their higher end professional series vises carry a lifetime warranty.

Answer:	The Olympia Vice Grip Tool 38-604 I purchased opens "safely" to a surprising 4.75 inches to catch and cinch items. It will go all the way to 5 inches before the screw teeth fall out of the opposition hold (which is not a bad thing if the screw needs to be cleaned of shavings and re-greased). I've been very happy with the vice, and for the cost I wasn't prepared for such a tough, lasting and satisfying tool. You won't be sorry if you order it and you don't need to have a vice open further than 4.75 inches.
