Answer:	Yes. I am currently using it for that very purpose. Just as long as both your desktop monitor and wall-mount flat screen support VGA connections.

Answer:	It should work if both your computer and your home security DVR have VGA outputs. If you can successfully display the computer by connecting it directly to the monitor, then transfer the VGA connection to the DVR and get a picture, the switch will definitely work.

Answer:	The other answers really don't address your question. Hint to others: if someone is asking a question like this, they probably aren't familiar with jargon like "drive size." The 1/2" vs 3/8" refers to the size of the square lug at the end of the ratchet that you fasten the sockets to. 3/8" sockets will have a 3/8" opening that goes onto the rotating lug of the ratchet. Obviously bigger is more sturdy, but for general home use 3/8" would be plenty adequate. They even make 1/4" drive that's lighter duty, but 3/8" is a popular size and good for overall use. 1/2" would generally be for heavier duty like general automotive bolts. 3/4" and 1" drive sizes get you into heavier automotive (trucks and bigger) and industrial applications.

Answer:	I can answer 2 of your 3 questions: yes it is a manual switch, the single button at the front middle in the photo, yes I use it with 3 computers (my work laptop, my Windows tower and my Linux file server). However I only use it with a keyboard and trackball (mouse), the third front connector is unused by me. I don't know whether a printer would "like" having its connection switch to another computer and switched back, but I have no way of knowing. I will add that the 4 lights across the top (that show which computer you're connected to) are somewhat dim so I lean forward to use the button. I see that as a very minor point, I have no significant complaints (especially for the price).
