They call this particular impact a mid-range as its stronger than an impact driver (1/4 quick release on the end where the bit attaches to) & less than a big impact wrench.

Answer: They aren't hot swappable, but if you want to change the switches you'll have to desolder the switches I am planning on doing that but I'm having difficulty getting the the last screw which is in the top left hidden under the black plastic next to the ESC key
