SHARPENING INSTRUCTION



Place the plastic tip of the sharpening rod on a solid surface. Apply lightly downward pressure to avoid slipping during use.



Place heel of your blade at the top of the sharpening rod at a 20 degree angle. Sharpen the knife from heel to tip and repeat 2 - 3 times, then turn to the other side of the knife until blade is sharp.



Clean the knife with water and dry it after use. Clean the knife sharpener with non-abrasive brush. .

Question:	does the knife need to be honed after using this sharpener
Answer:	If the unit does not have a brushless motor you are passing flammable fumes through or around a motor which could create sparks and an explosion. Brushless motors are fairly easy to find for a diy booth and are used in other paint booth products. Why take a chance?
Question:	it's this for honing or sharpening? people are using the words like they are interchangeable
Answer:	I bought mine on July 3rd (1 1/2 months ago) and use it almost daily. It works as it's intended to and I am very happy with it. It's an economy unit, and I have looked at higher priced units that seem to be built stronger, but yet this one does the job. I have mine in my garage and put a 4 inch dryer vent hole through my block wall for the vent. I even spray my brush into the air in the booth to clear it and to check the spray pattern, and all of the paint goes out the back. I bought the kit with the LED lights and think its the best $10 I've ever spent. They light up the work area nicely. I use water based paints so I can't help on the flammable paints. As a Fire Protection Contractor, I would have bought a unit designed for that application, but I can't see spending more money when this works so well in my application. I am very happy with this product, and feel that the affordability this brings to us makes safety a viable option for hobby painters.
Question:	Is the steel rod smooth or groved
Answer:	I don't know if this will help. I looked through the manual and it says if you are using compressor equipped w/TFR 200 you will need to adjust the pressure to 20-30 PSI. Working pressure is 15-50 PSI. You may have to contact the dealer. There number is 858-909-2110 or [email protected]. I have contacted them in the past and they where very helpful.

Answer:	Its a spray booth that has good air flow, so yes, I would think so. It will vent fumes out the back of unit, but be advised that the blue filter pad you see in the back of unit is a 'particle filter', and not used to filter toxic fumes.

Answer:	???There is only on/off, no in-between. Run for as long as you need....so long as blue air filter is clear and not blocked with spray residue.
Question:	Can you use this to flatten whetstones
Answer:	I use this paint booth exclusively with lacquer aerosol rattle cans. The lacquer fumes are removed immedietly. There are still light fumes in the air around the booth but the majority of fumes are sucked directly out. I don't have any issues spraying indoors.
Question:	Are these monocrystalline electroplated diamond sharpening stones
Answer:	It isn't that loud. Normal fan noise. I have a small room too and it doesn't bother me. I think if I could have vented it to the outside the noise would be even less.

Answer:	It actually had the opposite effect on my scissors, too. I ruined three pair of scissors. I have the AccuSharp tool for sharpening knives and that works really well, though.

Answer:	Yes there is a big difference. The Accusharp 001 is designed to sharpen DOUBLE-BEVELED blades, which contains two, angled, tungsten carbide blades; designed to sharpen both sides of your blade. The 006 GardenSharp (not 060) has ONE, angled, tungsten carbide blade that is meant for SINGLE-BEVELED blades. The other 'blade' is not meant to sharpen, it is simple a steel rod designed to guide your sharpener. This is because on your pruners, loppers, any single-edge blades only need ONE side to be sharpened to make a clean cut. If both sides of your loppers are angled then you will just bend the stem instead of cut it. Do not use AccuSharp 001 on single-beveled garden tools; it is not designed for them. Question:	what is the thickness of the file end
Answer:	Staedtler is a worldwide corporation having at least nine manufacturing plants including four in Germany so this is a difficult wuestion to answer.
Question:	Sir: dose the l-pac-5 come with the plastic protective carry case
Answer:	One simply pushes the top end to retract the claws of the holder on the bottom, and the leads needs to be carefully inserted through those claws. The lead just "drops" in. There are no threads of any sort, but instead a solid tube to house the lead. Personal opinion is recommended for children learning.
Question:	Are the handles plastic or aluminum
Answer:	I am not sure, but consider: the blue filters for this unit are expensive and I would think that ceramic glaze will clog the filter much faster than paint. This answer in ONLY a guess. Best of luck!

Answer:	Exhaust hose is not necessary. I have it without and it works perfectly. Just make sure to clean the filters frequently to make sure there is good air flow and you are good to go spray painting or airbrushing until your heart is content.
