You could only use it for RCA video if you have a mono signal for sound. It's just 2 RCA connectors for each input and for the output. You can use it for just audio, just video, or both. One input at a time to the receiver, or the receiver to ONE downstream device at a time. There is no signal processing whatever, so the electrons can go either way. Note that this is intended as a line-level device, so you may hear noise pickup if using it at magnetic phono signal levels (or if you have a loose connection), and you may damage the device if you use this for speaker switching due to high currents when playing speakers loudly. I am inputting from CD, DVD, TV, LP, Cassette, R2R tape, Game box, and even VCR, then outputting to any one of the following: TV, DVD-R, audio amp, headphones, video processor OR (not AND) PC. My only cautions are to be gentle but firm when making connections - this is not a commercial performance-grade product- and for the same reason, turn off any inputs you do not currently need, to reduce signal bleed-through from other sources. If this is too much of a nuisance, you can easily spend hundreds of dollars for a device that will do exactly the same thing as this unit, but will stand up to frequent road trips and on-stage abuse. |
