User questions & answers
Question: | What is the diameter of the jaws? TIA |
Answer: | The jaws taper slightly, so... at the thickest part, at the hinge, the diameter is 0.158" or 5/32" in fractions. The tip is a smaller diameter, 0.125" or 1/8". But, this is not exactly right because the shaft itself is not round, but more of an oval. You would need a hole of about 3/16" to pass the entire shaft diameter. Also, while this is a good instrument for picking up an object, you cannot pull with much force, the serrations in jaws are very fine. Finally, I bought these over a year ago, and they are produced overseas by any number of manufacturers as a generic item, so my dimensions may be different. Maybe I didn't help you at all! |
Question: | What are the dimensions of the jaws portion and do they grip tightly all the way to the tip of the jaws |
Answer: | Jaw length= 1/2"; width @ tip= 1/16"; both jaws serrated; top jaw opens, bottom jaw fixed; max open= 1/4"; grip from hinge to tip |
