Answer:	They are much lighter weight than wool socks. I don't think they could replace wool socks unless you use the very thin kind of wool socks. I get my wool socks from REI and use them for boots. Heat Holders are lined with a comfy cushy soft lining. I like them a lot in sports shoes (I don't do sports). In my opinion, Heat Holders would not do well in boots.

Answer:	No. They won’t make your feet that hot. They are perfect and will make your feet feel good, warmer and more comfortable than regular socks

Answer:	These are very thick thermal socks. Very warm but you may have to go up a size in boots? I wear them around the house without shoes so no issues with their thickness...just cozy warm!

Answer:	They wash very well. Sometimes the lining gets a little balled up but I think if you washed them inside out that would help. I love these socks and where them all the time. They keep my feet warm outside but yet they aren't too hot to wear as slippers inside.

The product's label states; "Ranger" "Command N Conquer" "Max Load 8T/17600LB" "WLL 4T/8800LB." The second red flag is their load description. A general rule is the Working Load Limit is 1/5 the fail point. Either the WLL is grossly overstated or the Fail point loading is understated. I popped it apart to check on the construction. There is no bearing or bushing. Just wheel on steel shaft. No bearing = lots of heat generated. Anyone using a synthetic rope should know that any heat will cause them to fail. That is something to consider for those using winches with internal brake. I bought this because I thought it was of Canadian manufacture. It would seem not. It's being returned.

Answer:	I have used an ascender as a locking device by running the free end to an anchor ( in my case a ground anchor) and attaching the ascender to the anchor and running that free end through the ascender, of course other setups can also be used whether using an ascender or friction knots like the prusik knot.

Answer:	I don't know what "bullet points" means, but for a lifting apparatus like this double braid is NOT correct. You want to use "kernmantle" STATIC rope (a braided polyester shell for abrasion & UV protection over a core of load-bearing parallel strands, usually nylon) because it's the least stretchy type of rope. Double braid is too stretchy. Half your work goes into stretching the rope before the actual lifting starts.
