Question: | I have a 3" diameter pvc threaded pipe. What size adjustable plier will loosen it |
Answer: | This only opens to 1 1/2 inch, only tools able to get to at moment. This type of adjustable wrench isn't good for pvc pipe. There are plumbing tools for that. |
Question: | What's the biggest the jaw can open |
Answer: | This model has 6 adjustment positions. |
Question: | Would this work to loosen an aerator screwed into the end of a sink faucet? Need to change it and too tight to unscrew by hand. Thanks |

User questions & answers
Question: | How wide do the pliers open? I have a set, but the mouth isn't big enough to grip the pipes under the sink |
Answer: | about three inches. They are standard wire pliers, not a pipe wrench. |
Question: | does this help with closing magnetic snaps |
Answer: | I assume magnetic snaps are used in clothing creation and need to be installed with some force? These are regular pliers used for everyday tasks. They are just a little smaller than "normal" sized pliers. I bought a couple just to have a set out in the garage and another in my shop. They are metal with somewhat sharp corners and have "teeth" in the jaws. If you were careful, they could be used around clothing but they could also damage or scratch the snaps quite easily. They are meant more for grabbing on to bolts etc. and applying force to turn them or hold them from turning. |
Question: | Will they be able to unscrew pyrography pen nibs or I should look for something else |
Answer: | Sorry I cannot answer your question. I changed my mind and didn't purchase this item after all. |
Question: | can this help take the bolts of a bike tire |
Answer: | Yes you can use this tool to remove the bolts. It is not the best tool because the teeth will damage the bolt if not done correctly. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Are they round? I need them to make earrings and so I need them to be round so that I can cool the wire around them |
Answer: | Not sure where you need it to be round. They are needle nose pliers, and perfect for my purpose of putting quilting pin covers on pins. The clamping part is serrated and they grasp very well. I hope this helps you. |
Question: | Can you cut wire with them? Sometimes needle-nose pliers have a sharp edge near the handle that you can use to cut wire - wondering if these do |
Answer: | We can confirm that the Stanley Needle Nose Pliers - 127mm - 0-84-096 are designed for gripping. They do not have a sharp edge near the handle to cut wire. |
Question: | Are the jaws on thes serrated or smooth |
Answer: | Hi James- They are serrated through the jaws. I have posted some pictures (hopefully Amazon will allow them) with close pictures of the jaws against a ruler. |
Question: | I need the exact dimensions on the tip, widht and height, have to reach a tight space |
Answer: | Closed the tip is 1/8" and at hinge 15/16" to outside edges. The jaw itself tapers from 3/32" to approx 19/64" about 1 & 5/8" up from tip. Total length is 5 &7/8". Total jaw opening distance is 2 & 1/16". Tip opens to about 1" which makes the hinge end right before bend in handle approx. 11/16". Hope that helps! |

User questions & answers
Question: | I purchased this lock ring plier in june of 2018, and one of the tips broke today/normal use. does this tool have a warranty |
Answer: | Stanley Proto supposedly offers a lifetime warranty on their hand tools. I bought a wrench a while back for a special job and the pin that held everything together snapped. I contacted Proto and sent them pictures. They wanted me to pay to ship it to them and then they would replace the pin. Not what I would consider professional in a warranty service. I shouldn’t have to pay to ship the broken tool to the manufacture for them to honor the warranty. So in other words, if you are willing to pay to have your broken pliers shipped to Stanley Proto, they may end up replacing them. |
Question: | Can this be used to remove threads from a candelabra bulb that broke off in the socket |
Answer: | I don't know why it would not work. I have used standard needle nose. Bend the metal base that was part of the bulb so you can get a grip on it. This might work well if you have limited room. |
Question: | What is the width of the tip, while closed |
Answer: | 0.1365" measured with a digital caliper. Allow some 'wiggle room'. |
Question: | How wide do these open? I need to know for sure, not about |
Answer: | I need pliers that work on lock ring that has a forty five cut . Don't need pliers that work on snap rings with eyelet to remove |
