A pocket breathalyzer is a handheld device designed to measure an individual's blood alcohol content (BAC) by analyzing their breath. These devices are commonly used by individuals, law enforcement agencies, and healthcare professionals to determine if a person has consumed alcohol and to assess their level of impairment. Here is some information about pocket breathalyzers:
Purpose: Pocket breathalyzers are primarily used to estimate a person's BAC, which is a measure of the concentration of alcohol in their bloodstream. This information is valuable for determining whether a person is legally intoxicated and should not drive or operate heavy machinery.
Portable: As the name suggests, pocket breathalyzers are small and portable, making them convenient for individuals to carry in their pockets or bags. This portability allows for on-the-spot BAC testing.
Operation: Pocket breathalyzers typically operate based on the principle of breath analysis. The user blows into a mouthpiece, and the device measures the alcohol content in their breath to estimate their BAC. The results are displayed on a digital screen.
Accuracy: The accuracy of pocket breathalyzers can vary depending on the model and brand. While they can provide a reasonably accurate estimate of BAC, they may not be as precise as professional-grade breathalyzer equipment used by law enforcement.
Calibration: It's important to calibrate and maintain pocket breathalyzers according to the manufacturer's instructions to ensure accurate results. Regular calibration is necessary to maintain their reliability.
Applications: Pocket breathalyzers are commonly used by individuals for personal use to monitor their alcohol consumption and make informed decisions about driving. Law enforcement agencies use more advanced breathalyzer equipment for DUI enforcement. Healthcare professionals may also use breathalyzers in clinical settings for medical purposes.
Features: Some pocket breathalyzers come with additional features such as Bluetooth connectivity, smartphone apps, and data logging, allowing users to track their BAC over time.
Legal Implications: While pocket breathalyzers can provide estimates of BAC, it's important to note that the legal limit for driving under the influence of alcohol varies by jurisdiction. Depending on your location, a specific BAC level may lead to legal consequences, such as fines or license suspension.
Cost: Pocket breathalyzers are available at various price points, with more advanced models often offering additional features and higher accuracy.
Privacy: Using a pocket breathalyzer is a personal choice, and the results do not need to be shared with others. Many individuals use these devices as a tool to monitor their own alcohol consumption and make responsible decisions.
In summary, pocket breathalyzers are portable devices designed for estimating an individual's blood alcohol content by analyzing their breath. They are commonly used by individuals, but their accuracy may not match that of professional-grade equipment used by law enforcement. It's important to use them responsibly and in accordance with local laws and regulations regarding alcohol consumption and driving.

User questions & answers
Question: | what size are the star screws holding the belt clip on |
Answer: | If you can afford a carving jack why would you even consider buying this ??? don't get me wrong it's a good little knife for the money but it's bulky and not ergonomic at all your hand will hurt after a wile and the blades don't lock like the carving jack . You'll have to sharpen it to your liking ,but I rather loose a $ 25 knife in the woods than a $140 any day of the week. over all it's not a bad little knife once is sharpened |
Question: | What is the handle made of |
Answer: | We do not carry a left handed model. |
Question: | I bought this knife and opened it fine. Now I can't close it! Can someone please help |
Answer: | This is sad. I am 63 years old and remember when "Schrade" and "Uncle Henry" were brand names of knives you were PROUD to own and showed off to all your friends. Fortunately I do still have one old 'Uncle Henry" old enough to be of good quality. I recall sharpening a knife (Uncle Henry) for our Sgt and when he cut himself with it the doctor (took 12 stitches inside & out to sew him up) said it looked like he had been cut with a scalpel. I bet you couldn't get one of these new knives that sharp. |
Question: | Can you clean a deer with it |
Answer: | To all those complaining about the blades not locking, a blade lock was developed to keep a knife from closing when it is used to stab, like a folding skinner going through thick hide at the start of a cut (which is the wrong way to start that cut, too, by the way). If you are using this tool in any way that causes the blades to close on your fingers, you don't know how to use the tool, and you're looking for a hardware fix for a training deficiency. Stop blaming the tool and fix your ignorance. Nobody is born knowing how to use a carving knife, or any other type of knife, any more than they're born knowing how to use a hammer, saw, drill, gun, stove, oven, or jackhammer, and you shouldn't expect to expertly use a tool until you've spent some time learning how to. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Would you consider this good for self-defense |
Answer: | Designed & engineered in Oregon, made in China (says so on the packaging) |
Question: | Hi,can you take this knife to chile |
Answer: | No. It is a locking knife, but not a lockback. "Lockback" means there's a "spring loaded" (torsion bar, actually) locking leaver (rocker bar) located on the spine (back) of the frame which unlocks the blade when pressed. The locking mechanism for this knife is on the side of the frame (it's actually a part of the frame itself), near the pivot (same side as the pocket clip) and must be pulled back to unlock the blade. Since it has no "knob" and does not protrude from the frame, it can be a bit difficult to pull it back (it's very tight). It is very difficult (and not particularly safe) to close this knife with one hand. |
Question: | Do I have to sign for the knife |
Answer: | There are many kinds of stainless steel, as well as surface treatment and playing options. These have varying levels of corrosion resistance, and the environment matters as well. For example, SS430 will eventually gain rust, especially on untreated (e.g sharpened) surfaces. 304 will corrode in chlorinated environments (e.g. saltwater, chlorine). 316 corrodes under heavy alkalines (e.g. Sodium). There will always be something that is corrodes or oxidizes a metal, you just want to avoid metals incompatible with chemistry it may see for your use case. You shouldn't be surprised that your $8 knife may not be made of the most robust material available. |
Question: | Is this legal in Michigan |
Answer: | If you look on the back of the knife you will see a lock that is built in the frame (it is a bent piece of metal of the frame itself). You push down on the arm and close the blade. |
