The blade geometry on both the gut hook version and the normal version also wouldn't be very good for it as they both have fine, pointy tips. If you were to make the point less fine, oil it, and clean it, it will likely make a fine skinning knife. |

| Answer: | The handle is curved to give a better grip on the knife. Three fingers can rest inside the larger curve, while your index finger rests in the choil (smaller curve) the base of the blade. By the two small holes I'm guessing you mean the one on the blade and the one at the back of the handle. The hole at the back of the handle allows Paracord or a lanyard to be inserted, and the thumb hole on the blade allows for one-handed opening (with practice). |

| Answer: | A “fighting knife” possesses a blade designed to effectively inflict lethal or grievous physical harm between individuals within grappling distance, short range. Fighting knives were traditionally designed for the sole purpose of hand-to-hand combat. Tactical knives have one or more military/martial features that are designed for use in “extreme” situations. Tactical knives are “utility” knives and may be designed such that they are better implemented for their utility function(s) over application as a weapon. Tactical utility knives became popular, for military as well as civilian, around WWII (the Marine KA-BAR was designed with dual purpose: combat/utility) and tactical “folding” knives in the 1990’s. While tactical folding knives can be used in combat situations, “fixed-blade combat knives” are most reliable in grappling situations. Marketing, advertising, increased popular “civilian” use and mass production have blurred knife terminology.
