Well hi Justin!You have about the finest cable cutters money can buy there and they are made to pretty exacting tolerances. I would not use WD-40 for anything since it is an aircraft wing deicer and is not a good lubricant. Instead pick up a bottle of 3 in 1 Oil also made by WD-40. This light machine oil will work great. Use it on the center hinge both sides and open and close the blades several times to work it into the pin. As you use the cutter they will eventually get easier to open. Answer:	This works just like a wire cutter except that the wire/cable is pushed to the back of the cutter as the blade portion makes contact. A wire cutter would tend to push the wire out of the cutter as it makes contact. This is probably especially important on hard wire. Stranded wire is a breeze because it tends to keep the wire intact rather than flattening it as it cuts. Not sure why they include the ferrules, this item is not a crimper.

Answer:	I can only tell you that "you get what you pay for" regarding this tool. I found it lacking the ability to cut the cable as it claims after being used on one project that required about 30 cuts. It claims 5/32" in diameter and your 9.5mm is equal to about 3/8" (12/32) so I would so no.
Question:	Do you think that this could cut 5mm cable tubing for a mountain bike
Answer:	I have only used it to cut 1/8” twisted stainless rope. It works very well for that.

Answer:	I do not know. However, fish hooks are hardened, where as 1/8 cable is not. I would think that the hardened metal would damage these cutters. That's my guess.

Answer:	You only get one, and as I have mentioned in my previous posts, I defy any human to cut 5/32 stainless steel deck cable with this cutter. I returned mine, and got a 3 foot long cable cutter to do the job, and that wasn't easy either.
