APPLICATION
Stir sealer to a uniform consistency and continue to stir throughout application. | Answer: | I hear what you're asking. However, my application and 'burning in' of this crack filler works best when you can heat the surrounding material (asphalt) to as nearly the same as what you heat/melt the "crack stix". This, for good 'adhesion' of the crack stix 'sticking' to the surrounding asphalt. So, unless you're willing to bring your surrounding asphalt up to nearly melting temps (150 degrees+) you'll never get the crack stix to 'stick' to the surrounding asphalt. Best time for application?: Wait for the hottest, sunniest, mid-day, summer days when the asphalt is at or near melting temps. Then you'll achieve the best results. Otherwise, the melted crack stix material you try to apply will simply not adhere/'fall out'. Don't waste the cost of this material trying to appy in the wintertime. When you apply in the summertime, you'll achieve the best results. Voice of experience talking here! P.S. Don't waste your money on "Flex Seal" products...either the tape or the liquid....worthless on driveway cracks! |

| Answer: | This is a sealant. I had a "street grade" asphalt driveway laid about one-year ago. This included a larger gravel because I wanted a rougher texture. I looked up how to seal the driveway on the internet. It's simply. You purchase the sealant at least one day prior to application. You turn the sealed container upside overnight. The next day, you stir the mix for approx. 5 min. and pour the mixture along the driveway. I used a squeegee to spread the mix over the driveway. Do this on a hot day. Look up " How to seal a driveway" on the web. Many videos to watch. A fairly easy process. |
