MIXING

The non-skid particles in TotalTread have a low density so they remain suspended in the paint, without floating to the top, or sinking to the bottom, like other non-skid paints. Mixing is easy and quick, just use the supplied mixing sticks and stir thoroughly. During application, you don’t need to keep stirring in order to keep the particles suspended in the paint.

APPLICATION

1. Apply TotalTread only when dew, rain, and temperature conditions will not affect proper application or drying.
2. TotalTread can be thinned 5-10% with TotalBoat Special Brushing Thinner 100, if needed.

TIP: Thin, even coats will yield the best results.

TINTING TOTALTREAD

To get a desired color, without ruining its high-traction finish properties, TotalBoat TotalTread can be tinted, up to 10% by volume, with TotalBoat Wet Edge Topside Paint.

TIP: It's very important not to add too much tint, or you'll ruin the non-skid properties of TotalTread.

Sand lightly, apply final coat.

• After the first coat dries (8 hrs. @ 90°F; 12 hrs. @ 70°F;16 hrs. @ 50°F), sand the surface lightly with 220-grit sandpaper. TIP: When sanding between coats, some of the grit will get sanded down, but do not sand completely smooth.
• Wipe the surface clean with TotalBoat Special Brushing Thinner 100, before applying the final coat.

Answer:	Yes it can I used it with a 5 gal bucket 1 50 lb bag and 2.5 l of water. started with half of the bag and worked the rest of the way up. I used a cordless 18 v drill I bought at Harbor freight on sale for 25 dollars.
Question:	Are these appropriate for polyurethanes
Answer:	I tried all of the suggestions in this thread for a similar paddle mixer and nothing worked. Pulling with a screwdriver in the loop caused the loop to break. Standing on the bottom while pulling with plyers caused the paddles to bend. Also tried hot water and even a heat gun and still the top would not budge. Finally I used a knife to slit the top along the side and peel it off and found that it was adhered to the shaft. I had to use the knife to scrape off the residue and leftover bits and pieces to get the shaft to fit securely in the drill chuck.
Question:	Should I put this in the refrigerator
Answer:	I didn’t have any issues with it leaving a mark. It’s tapered enough to give you a clean line but not sharp enough to cut anything.

Answer:	I would use a dishwashing liquid like dawn use sparingly directly on the carpet that’s affected. The. Take a wet sponge and work the area with that soak up with paper towels and repeat. Answer:	We used it on our slippery tiled stairs and I love it! I walk barefoot on it all the time and it is more like walking barefoot on concrete than rubber, not at all like sandpaper. It is not rough to the touch but definitely does the job. Our dogs were slipping and sliding and hitting the wall ever since we took the carpeting up and now they have no problem. I was worried about the baby she is just walking and those shoes can be slippery anyway. I didn't like the slickness being barefoot either this completely eliminated the problem with one coat!
Question:	can this product protect a new trex deck from being scraped or scratched from a heavy umbrella stand outside all year
Answer:	flat. I put in on deck tile, and you can hardly see it.
Question:	Will this fire pad work to protect grass under a propane fire table
Answer:	I used this to coat stones that I placed in my yard. All of my stones are painted surfaces of different colors. I have not noticed any yellowing at all, but then again I am not sure that I would since my stones are brightly colored. It does spray on clear and I used this spray last summer and again this summer, I can say that it works as far as being non-skid and my stones seem to have kept their color, so it is also protecting that. Now if you have a white surface and spray it on, I am sure it will go on clear, but if it is in the sun I am not sure if it will discolor or not, all I can say is that my stones that have been in the yard still look great and it definitely sprayed on them clear.

Question:	Can i use in poly for stairs
Answer:	Start by applying a little bit to see how much you've done, then give it a small squeeze. Check the bottle to see how much has been applied. Repeat and recheck, and you should be able to get a feel for how much of the bottle will come out with a normal squeeze. If need be, you can always mark the side of the bottle with a marker so you can see how much squeezes out each time. Please let us know if we can help you in any other way.
Question:	Could I use this on a wood climbing wall for my kid? Is it too abrasive
Answer:	Nope. You will get exactly what you see in the photo. However, I had no issues with applying the lube. I stuck the tip under the belt and squeezed as I went down the length of the belt. If anything, I used a little too much (about 1/3 of the bottle, instead of 1/4 of the bottle), but my belt was VERY dry, so I'm okay with that!
Question:	Will one container be enough for 400 sq feet
Answer:	I don't know about the straw. I just stuffed the whole bottle under the belt, but my treadmill is old and perhaps looser than yours. The one thing I would change about this product is the bottle - I would prefer it to be flatter, more like an Elmer's glue bottle.
Question:	How rough is the finish? I plan to use on a dog kennel floor and too much abrasiveness will be hard on the dogs feet
Answer:	As others have mentioned, it's tough to say for sure. If you are going to re-lube more frequently than recommended, start increasing the amount slowly and make sure that you aren't experiencing any adverse effects. If you are going to re-lube less frequently than recommended, just know that this will probably lower the life of the machine and may leader to higher incidences of issues.

Answer:	Hydrophobic fluids need a stabilizer, you can’t have pure hydrophobic extract... look at any of the other providers that use hydrophobic extract of neem oil and it will be a 70%/30% mix! If you want 100% neem oil, the product won’t be an extract and the instructions will tell you that you have to add dish soap + only to mix up what can be used immediately

I wonderered why it mixes so easily with water. The good thing is it only takes 2 table spoons to the gallon and seems to be doing the job it states it will.
