Question:	So if I use this with Oil based paints wouldn't there be a different approach to clean up
Answer:	There is a slightly different approach for oil based paints. Instead of using warm water to clean the unit, you'd use a cleaning solvent like mineral spirits.
Question:	Would i have to thin benjamin moore's advance paint
Answer:	The Super Finish Max should be able to spray it with no thinning required, but extremely thick paints may need to be thinned down slightly. Spray your paint on a piece of cardboard to test for the right paint flow.
Question:	Does this require a compressor
Answer:	No, the Super Finish Max does not require a compressor. It is a plug-in unit, which means all you need is a standard power outlet.
Question:	Will this spray rustoleum oil based paint
Answer:	Greetings! If you go to https://www.homeright.com/products/super-finish-max-extra you will see the link to download the manual for this terrific paint sprayer! Yes, you can spray oil based paints, but you’ll need to make sure to use the proper spray tip. This sprayer comes with the 1.5mm, 2mm and 4mm tips of which you would use the 1.5mm for oil based paints, stains, polyurethane, etc. You can also purchase separately the 1mm tip for such things as sealer and varnish to obtain an even finer spray. Please note that there is also a 2.5mm and 3.5mm tips available as well. The suggested use for all these tips are explained in detail on page 5 of the manual. Thinning may be necessary and you should do so based on the paint manufacturer’s guidelines. Please note that this sprayer is NOT meant to spray automotive paints as those paints need an even finer spray than what this sprayer produces. Question:	Is this an electric sprayer or do you need an air compressor
Answer:	No air compressor is needed. It is electric powered, not air.
Question:	Do I need an air compressor for this? Or is this a stand alone tool
Answer:	The base unit has a blower or low-pressure compressor built in, no external compressor required. Make sure the base is sitting where it will pull in clean air, no dust or debris.
Question:	can this be used for oil base paints
Answer:	Yes. Cleaning oil-based primer took forever to clean because you must use mineral spirits and be sure to get every bit of it off the interior parts. Cleaning latex-based primer and paint out of the sprayer with soapy water was much easier but still time-consuming, especially since I tried to get every bit of primer/paint off the outside of the sprayer and pump in case I want to sell it if we ever finish the kitchen-painting project. I am an almost elderly homemaker, amateur painter, and I was able to use it successfully.
Question:	Has anyone use it as a Spray tan system
Answer:	I have. The turbine has similar specs (i.e. correct pressure and airflow) to some other HVLP spray tanning systems; however, for me the cup size was too large and spray pattern on the included nozzle made it difficult to not overspray. I purchased a wagner "spray tan cartridge attatchment" aka "Wagner Detail Front End Kit" (ASIN B00FDZDO32). It works ok but the cup size is still fairly large and tended to overspray . I have since replaced that gun with a "Maxi-Mist Spray Tanning Gun Replacement Lightweight" ($35 on ebay) and am happy with the results even though I had to adapt the hose to fit. Maxi-mist's MaxiMist™ Evolution TNT Spray Tanning System looks like the wagner painted all black and I wonder if the front end gun ($50) is compatible. I don't use this professionally but can say its works, especially with a purpose made gun. I got best results with the pressure set just above minimum.

Answer:	I have been using it for several months and the nozzle is not clogged. Because this is a brass nozzle, not plastic. Also, pls remember clean it after each use.

Answer:	Normally, I do not recommend that latex paints and oil-based paint products are not cleaned after using one kind of paint, and use the other directly. After using the latex paint (or oil paint), put the corresponding thinner in the container, then install the container on the product, and perform a similar operation as spraying to properly clean the container (The purpose is to clean the remaining paint in the containers, pipes and nozzles). Then remove the container and clean.

Warm Tips:

1. Before using, please choose proper copper nozzle, spray patterns. Check if you have tighten up the container and paint tube; In addition, we recommend that you test on cardboard or wooden boards before spraying important items, such as walls or furniture.

2. Please add some water(or paint thinner) to dilute the paint and stir to ensure that your paint passes smoothly through the viscosity cup within 100 seconds and meets your requirements.

3. After finishing spraying put the corresponding thinner in the container, then install the container on the product, and perform a similar operation as spraying to properly clean the container (The purpose is to clean the remaining paint in the containers, pipes and nozzles). Question:	How hard is this to use? i want to repaint my dark kitchen cabinets white. i haven't ever done any painting with a spray gun. can i learn quickly
Answer:	So I painted my kitchen cabinets last year with it. I never used a HVLP sprayer before. I did not spray over my old cabinets. I build new doors from Maple stock sander them down to 320 grit before I started painting. I thought that the best paint to use would be a oil base paint. So this is what I bought and realizing that I would have to thin it with paint thinner (not more then 10%). First I primed them with an oil base primer then started to use the finish coat. So it didn't go so well at first you have to figure out the volume of paint to allow to flow from the gun. I found with the oil base paint that 1 1/2 turns open from closed or 1 1/4 turns worked best. You spray one direction and then the other direction. I would paint them, let them dry over night and lightly sand them with 320 grit. This gets rid of any imperfections in the finish. Then apply another coat and followed this process for 4 coats. I ended up with an almost perfect finish. But that is not good enough. See now that you have this perfect finish anytime you scratch your finger nail against the paint it leaves a mark. So to solve this I applied a clear poly coat from Minwax. Sprayed it with the paint flow valve only 1 turn open since it is so thin and can be sprayed without thinning. Same process as with the paint but sand with 400 grit instead, Applied 4 coats and my doors are scratch free and easy to clean. I painted the outside of the cabinets with a latex paint and brush. Since you don't see much of them it makes little difference to use a sprayer. I have since become very good with this sprayer and do many projects with it now with confidence. If you use a latex paint I find that Sherwin Williams works better then Bear and you have to thin Latex paint since it is much thicker then oil. Oil paint is just a pain to clean up and it smells so you can't use it inside. When you are ready to paint setup a small spray booth in the garage or outside, make a turntable if you can so you move the work and not your position. You have to make sure you keep as much dust out as possible. Wet the sides of the paint booth and the floor. I used my garage and also put plastic up on the outside of the doors to keep as many insects as possible out. I had to refinish several doors do to small a insect getting stuck on the paint. My brother in-law told me that there is a paint you can use with a brush that flows at the right rate and dries with a tile look. I did see these online for $100 gallon. Oh I used a 1.5 needle in the sprayer. Good luck it is fun to spray once you master it.
Question:	Where can i buy needles for the pro 8 gun? & what needle's come with the gun
Answer:	Thanks. Here's what I found out - they have a major distribution deal with Wagner. The cap & needle sets are readily available. The needle only parts are coming soon. You can order direct from the 800 number in the manual. The sets are $49, and I didn't learn the needle only price. They'll all be available through Home Depot and channel sales this year.
Question:	Is this an appropriate unit for detail work such as high gloss clear coating of guitars using water based polyurethane and sanding sealer
Answer:	I have only used this for refinishing cabinets and furniture. Have to be careful tho, sometimes it spirts.

Answer:	Hola! It does come with a brush, a wrench, a viscosity funnel and the users manual. There is only one needle included. Besides that, it is just the spray gun, and the turbine unit. Answer:	The Fuji Semi-pro 2 would be a very good choice. I am 72 years old and appreciate the Fuji's fairly lite weight and compact turbine. The gun and whip hose are easy for me to handle. I chose the gravity gun and appreciate its comfortable center of gravity in my hand. It is easy to manipulate around corners and tight spaces. You didn't mention the type of material you will be spraying thru the gun. The Semi-Pro gives best performance with water-borne and solvent-borne finishes. Answer:	Pressure gauges are not necessary if you have some sort of gauge in your air system allowing you to adjust the air pressure. However, having a gauge at the gun will allow better and more consistent control of pressures recommended for the products your spraying, which will help you with achieving the desired results.
Question:	Would this be good to paint a car
Answer:	I bought this to spray primers and it works very well for that task but for bases and clears I'm not sure how it would do. I wouldn't recommend it simply because of the fact that it has a 1.7 mm tip which is too large for bases and even clears so if you do decide to go with this brand gun I'd suggest going with a 1.4 mm tip. I personally own a Finnex FX3000 with 1.4 mm tip to spray base and clear coats and I LOVE that gun. Works great, sprays smooth and the design is awesome, very comfortable in the hand.
Question:	Has anyone used this unit for kitchen cabinet refinishing with Latex Cabinet Paint
Answer:	With the nickel finish you'll generally want paint with thinner, otherwise stuff gets gummy on the inside, use thinner and clean well and you'll be golden. On long work projects I recommend cleaning after 60-90 minutes of use then resuming.
Question:	I plan to paint kitchen cabinets using oil base or alkyd enamel. is 2.0 mm the proper size for this paint
Answer:	I used to use a 1.7 and I would thin latex paint for kitchen cabinets. Makes for a little bit of a finer finish but the 2.0 would work great. Something to consider though, with the experience I have had using over the years with these sprayers they work great, no complaints BUT I recently upgraded to an airless sprayer (a Graco unit from Home Depot). It's definitely a little more expensive on the front end but if you plan to spray anything including kitchens with a little frequency it cut actual spray time down significantly. It took a tenth of the time to spray the same sized kitchen with our graco unit vs the neiko. Good luck!

Question:	can it use exterior latex paint
Answer:	Yes, you can use any oil or latex based paint, primer, or stain. It just requires extensive cleaning when finished to maintain functionality. This sprayer is designed to use latex paint WITHOUT thinning regardless of what people who have not read the manual say. If you have "globiness" issues, it's an easy fix: call the troubleshooting number and they will walk you through the steps to correct it. There is a piece in the nozzle that can be out of place upon purchase and its a simple matter of placing it in its proper place. Once it is corrected, the sprayer functions perfectly.
Question:	I just used my sprayer for the first time. I cannot seem to unscrew the container off of the system so I can clean/refill it. What am I doing wrong
Answer:	My experience on this has been that it is a very tight fit between the paint cup and the paint head. it is not easy to grab the bottom of the cup, it's so very smooth. It does have flat ridges but it still is very tight hard to grip. I suggest you remove the powerhead and then with the paint cup between your feet, turn the paint head counterclockwise, you will have a better grip with your feet if its that tight. .When you get the paint head off, double check to see that you don't have paint up on the treads inside and out. You may want to put a light coating of Vaseline on the threads inside and out, then screw it on and off a couple of times to spread the vaseline. This may help.
Question:	will this spray latex primer (kils) ... how much thinning req .. will work okay
Answer:	Yes it will spray primer. I did not have to thin it at all. I did not use Kilz, I used Zinser 123 with the fine mist application jar. I used 2 coats, but that is just me, I wanted every thing to be covered. Then I used latex paint. I did not need to thin it out but I added Flotrol so the paint would take longer to dry, which makes for a very even application. I used it on a vanity, draws, and doors. I am planning on painting my kitchen cabinets next. It is an extremely good sprayer and I tried several.

Question:	Can i use any kind of paint
Answer:	Yes, but you’ll need to change the pin out, which is included. The blue pin is for top coats and/or varnish, the green tip is for chalk/milk paint & the red tip is for latex paint. You’ll need to water down pretty much any & all paint, but it’s so easy! I was very scared to try when I first bought mine, but now it’s as easy as 1,2, 3!! Best decision I ever made was to buy this sprayer!! I refinish furniture, so I use it pretty often. Just make sure to clean out in between uses!
Question:	can I use semigloss paint for my kitchen cabinets in this sprayer
Answer:	Yes! Ive used semi-gloss paint in my sprayer! Just make sure if you use water based, you clean with water & soap. If your semi-gloss paint is oil based, then clean with mineral spirits! I love this sprayer...I use it for many projects! Good luck, practice before you tackle your kitchen cabinets, so you can work out the kinks prior to a huge kitchen job!
Question:	Does Quick Finish sprayer can spray varnish, latex, oil based paint
Answer:	I don't know if this one model does or not. Homeright Super Max does, it's worth the extra bucks. I've used mine with varnish, latex and Acrylic oil base paint. Best part is I did not dilute!!! Just pour and go. Love this machine, easy clean up and worth the price!!

Answer:	No, you need to take it apart to clean it well or the paint can't dry over time and make it not work properly.
