Answer: Just ran a simple test--two pieces stuck tape-side to tape-side. Multimeter shows no conductivity between the sides.

Answer: I would say no, if it was me, I would use black armaflex pipe insulation, but that is a bit expensive, for you I would just get foam insulation for pipes, 1/2 inch thickness at Lowes or Home Depot, and this should do the job. Remember to keep your propane tank full, or it can freeze. If its temperature is too low it will not vaporize. for the pipes you can use foam insulation of a half inch-3/4", from Home Depot, Lowes, etc. I would also insulate the propane tank if you live where artic blasts can exist, with a powerblanket, or a cylinder warmer wrap.

Answer: I have used this tape to seal off HVAC duct work, A/C evaporator furnace boxes, vent sealing, as well as HVAC system sealing to prevent bugs, dust, dirt, etc., as well as hot and cold air leaks. The key to using this product successfully is making sure all the surface areas you want to apply this product on are clean.... Again, clean surface areas are the key.Also, the A/C evaporator box that I have sealed was installed in the attic of my own house, which is in Phoenix, AZ. It does not get much hotter in the summer in an attic than in Phoenix, AZ. Anyway, I never had any issue with this tape peeling off, falling off, etc. As a matter of fact, I initially installed this tape on the evaporator/furnace box after replacing a leaky evaporator drip pan on the unit.Several years later, I needed to replace the fan motor condenser (electrical part) and when I took the evaporator/furnace box unit apart, the tape was as sticky as the day I initially installed it.As far as using this on solar tubes, I would personally give it a try. Solar tubes are the fancy little sky light type items that have a tube to direct the light from the source, through your attic space, and into the desired living area of your home.If all you are wanting to do is seal off the actual tube that is essentially in your attic space, then I would give it a shot; just make sure your surfaces are clean. HOWEVER, DO NOT use this product if you are intending to seal off the actual dome assembly installed on your roof. It works in a pinch, otherwise sew on the SOLAS fabric strips. I ended up sewing mine on to velcro, now I can remove it anytime .

Answer: Thank you for your responses. I am glad the product works for general use but some applications require the use of reflectors with formal DOT certification. If this tape was DOT certified I am sure it would be clearly marked (possibly even on the tape itself) since it would be a strong selling point. Unfortunately DOT tape seems to only be available in 50' + lengths which then costs $100!
Question: Has anyone applied this material to fabric? If so, which fabrics and what was the experience with adhesion in rain, with sweat, and washability
Answer: Even though the adhesive backing was very strong, it did not hold through a wash-cycle. It will hold in the rain a few times but water will eventually separate it from fabric. It is made to adhere to flat, non-porous surfaces, not fabric exposed to water & elements. Hope this will help
Question: I want to put this on a bike messenger bag made of ballistic nylon; will it last and stay on, especially after some time in the rain
Answer: I highly doubt it will stay on your messenger bag. I tried to stick it to my waterproof backpack which has a rubberized coating and the tape didn't stay on for more than a couple minutes. I was able to transfer the tape to my bicycle fenders and it has stayed on the fenders for about 10 months.The problem with sticking it on your messenger bag is that the tape isn't flexible in multiple directions whereas the nylon for your bag will flex under the tape and cause the tape to fall off.If you had something that only lightly flexed or does not flex at all then this would stick for months (or possibly years), but you'll be disappointed trying to stick this to fabric.
Question: I would like to put this on my dogs coats, does it stick to cloth
Answer: It sticks to stiff fabrics ok, but very fleixible fabircs, it sticks poorly, and I imagine the same for the fur of your dogs' coats (lol). Plus it's kind of cruel to do that to the poor animals. It does hold better if you can wrap the tape all the way around a piece of fabric, like a draw string or a handle, or the tip of the dogs tail.

Question: Is this supposed to be heat pressed? If I were to stick this on a shirt; would I be able to laundry it
Answer: No heat required. I attached to dog leash - stuck very well until we spent a day at the beach (salt water). The product did not come right off, but wore off after about 2-3 months. The corners curled up and would get caught on things.. It REALLY sticks, so be sure your shirt is a strong material. You could probably get by with hand washing and hanging to dry.

Answer: Well, the tape is pretty stiff and on the thick side. I don't know if it would stay on if it were stuck on a moving child. I stuck it to fabric, on a tent, that did not move.

Answer: Yes, the tape is flexible. I wrapped it around 2" exposed pipes we had while we were putting up a fence. Worked perfectly!!

Question: Does it withstand sun, high heat, and freezing temps
Answer: No, it doesn't. Gaffer tape is for temporary use, though maybe a little longer indoors. Gaffer tape is easily peeled off without leaving residue, but weather (especially direct sun) will cause it to leave a sticky mess.
Question: Could this tape be used for making labels (that won't curl up or fall off) for plastic moving boxes
Answer: It should hold for a decent amount of time... it's NOT a permanent tape but I've used it on all sorts of materials, cardboard, plastic, metal forseveral months and I had no problems. If you're talking about slapping a piece on a container and marking it "Kitchen" you're good.
Question: Would this work for taping plastic over windows in winter months without leaving residue or removing paint when removed
Answer: As someone who has worked on stages and in studios, I can confirm that gaff tape won’t damage properly painted surfaces unless the paint is old or the subsurface is poor. However, gaff tape is not designed to withstand a lot of moisture on its adhesive side the way duct tape is. A little moisture is okay. It stands up well to “sweating” concrete, for example.
Question: Does this work on boobs? Kim Kardashian suggested it
Answer: Gaffer’s tape is probably the best type of tape for this purpose as the adhesive is meant to be easily removed from surfaces without residue. It also doesn’t stretch like duct tape, which I’d never suggest you use on any skin! There are certain brands of G tape that actually are less sticky than others, so look for those with complaint reviews about that. Good luck, and avoid the nips!

Answer: I have used this successfully to repair a long crack to the plastic bonnet to my Nuwave Oven. It has withstood multiple hand washing and the heat from cooking. Once you remove the backing it is very very thin and can be formed with care. Once it has been stuck down the adhesive is very effective. Might be tricky to apply smoothly to formed surfaces.
Question: does the foil peel off
Answer: If you mean that it is easy to take off no, I know that it really sticks. I used it to seal A/C duct leaks about a year ago and the tape is still staying in place.

Answer: HI, Thanks for your question. Our tape is waterproof and should work perfectly for your outdoor uses, whether high or low temperature.

Answer: I do not know. I did use it to hold door handle on car until I have a chance to replace. The tape has stayed glue during snow and rain.

Answer: Typically this tape is used for covering wires on the floor when running extension cords. Duct tape sticks way more than this to give you an idea. This tape comes up really well without sticking to hard to the carpet and it leaves no marks.
