These things where manufactured very poorly and didn't even line up correctly. It's hard to talk about it without showing you but they are a terrible product. I tried to save some money and after all that hassle I am glad I bought Mopar replacement parts. I highly recommend them compared to aftermarket. You can save a bit of money by buying a set of door surround knobs from Drake Off Road instead of Mopar. Plus they look better.

Answer:	Do not use this in glasses. I bought this product to use on a picture frame, the glass on which I wanted to be uv protected.It does not coat the surface in a uniform, smooth coat which would be required for optics. It actually ruined the glass on the picture frame, as well.

Answer:	Yes, with caveats. Yes if you are wanting to protect new or recently repaired headlights, ie you removed the oxidation from your lenses with one of the many refinishing kits that involves sanding through the damaged layers, but before you spray any other protective product on the lens that this clear paint can't adhere to. However keep in mind any imperfections and inconsistencies in your application of this product will change the light output pattern and intensity from your headlights, which may make them less usable at night.

Answer:	Hello, I don't know what your picture is made of. Is it a print on paper, a painting, or something else?Rustoleum spray lacquer is not compatible with acrylic, so could ruin your art if there is an acrylic finish already on it. I recommend you get a spray can of Krylon Crystal Clear spray ACRYLIC (not lacquer) in gloss, satin, matte, or what ever finish you want. This is compatible with many different types of paints and finishes. Test it first, if you can. I don't recommend either finish for valuable art. Michael's also has various spray finishes (more expensive) made for coating prints and paintings, like picture varnish or something similar. (I usually use Rustoleum spray lacquer only on ceramics and metal.) Good luck!!!

Question:	I have a scratch on my bumper will i be able to just do the area with all the products or will i have to do the entire bumper to get it to blend
Answer:	You should not have to paint the entire bumper. First, prep the area where the scratch is. Clean the entire bumper, then depending on the depth of the scratch, you may want to lightly sand and area surrounding the scratch until all is smooth. Then wipe lightly with laquer thinner. Mask off the bumper to isolate it from the car. Get Dupli-color primer and apply a few light coats. Let them dry well before applying more. This will build up the area around the scratch that you had sanded. Let the primer dry overnight. Next, get some 400 and 600 grit sandpaper (wet type) and with a wet piece of 400, sand lightly the entire primed area. Keep dipping the paper in water and don't use fingertips! Clean area with wet cloth and repeat process with 600grit wet paper and you can then sand some of the areas surrounding the primer (scuff the painted surfaces around the repair) Clean it up with damp clothes and let dry. Apply the paint in light coats in a side to side motion. Don't try to cover the primer too fast. Light coats work best and allow dry time in between coats. Eventually the primer will be covered and some of the new paint will then overlap the original paint on bumper (this is part of the blending process) Once all is covered and you cannot see the primer under the paint, let it dry overnight.Next day, get some 1000 grit wet paper and sand the entire repair area lightly. This will help smooth out the new paint. Dont sand too hard so as to make the primer exposed. Sand beyond the new paint so as to scuff up the old untouched paint on the bumper. You are getting the surrounding area ready for the clear cloat blend.Wipe with clean wet cloth and when thoroughly dry you can apply the dupli color clear coat using the same light coat, overlap method. Now you will want to go beyond the repair area bringing the clear coat into the original painted surfaces by a few inches all around. Let the clear coat dry in between coats. Once clear is applyed, let it dry overnight. Next day you can wet sand the entire repair area with 1000 wet paper. Remember, no finger tips. Use your palm or get a sanding block but go lightly. Once you have finished sanding, wipe clean with wet cloth and then polish with Light polishing compound. You can do this by hand if you dont have a buffer. It may sound complicated, but that's a process that will give you the best results outside of going to a body shop. Another consideration, if the scratch is small, get a bottle of duplicolor touch up. It has the brush built in and you can possibly just carefully use the brush and paint to fill in the scratch. Answer:	I would say it makes wood water repellent, if many coats use. For water proof finishes I would look for marine-grade finishes that are used for wooden boats, etc..

Answer:	It is flat. You want a high gloss!!And, YES you sand the newer headlights with a haze . 3000 grit, then polish. Coating after will help, but it needs a UV inhibitor in it!

Question:	can this be used on on plastic or brass? I want to change the color to the small lights in my hallway and the base is a brass finish
Answer:	ProtectaClear can take anywhere from 1-3 hours to dry between coats depending on humidity. However, the coating will not be fully cured for 4-5 days (air cure). Or you can oven cure items (after they are dry to the touch) by placing them on some foil on a cookie sheet and baking the items for 1 hour at 180 degrees. The coating will be delicate until it is fully cured.
Question:	what is the sheen -- satin, opaque? Thanks
Answer:	Hi, many people do use a sponge brush, but many also use an artist style brush. If you do use a paintbrush, it needs to be natural bristle (vs. poly or nylon). The coating is solvent based and could dissolve synthetic material. Hope this helps :-)
Question:	can this be used in a power sprayer
Answer:	The metal to be coated with ProtectaClear needs to be completely clean and dry. If you use an acid based polish or other acid to clean the metal, the acid must be neutralized with baking soda and water. Then, solvent wipe with a clean solvent like denatured alcohol (available in paint stores or hardware stores). This will ensure a completely clean surface. Two coats of ProtectaClear are recommended, allow each coat to dry before applying the next coat. Complete written instructions come with each order.
