Answer:	All of the Country Chic Paint brushes are specifically designed to be used with our paint, but my personal favorite is our Oval Paint Brushes. They have densely packed bristles that hold lots of paint, and they help create a nice, smooth paint finish. If you've already got brushes on hand that you'd like to use, make sure you pick on that has synthetic bristles, rather than natural. Synthetic bristles will create a much smoother finish with water-based paint like this!

Answer:	Yes. I had the same issue with 2 of them. How I was able to fix it was by removing the air hose from the machine. There is a little ball in the machine in the hole where the air hose connects. I gently used a screwdriver and pressed in the ball. This inabled the suction to work properly in order to prime and then spray. Hope this helps.

Answer:	I don’t know, I just completed my application to my decking and wood fence about 6 months ago and so far they both look great. I don’t think this product will flake or peel off because is a stain but I think is best if you contact the manufacturer and see what they will advise you. So far under the Phoenix Sun I can see a little fading but I will reapply again in about a year or so. Thanks for the question, Jorge
Question:	Can anyone share what their decks looked like one year later using this product
Answer:	I‘ve used this stain for many years on my decks. I’ve restained the horizontal surfaces every other year, the vertical surfaces every 5 years. I just completely stripped old twp stain off of my deck this spring and stained it in May with one coat of Ready Seal. I thought I probably needed two coats since it was the first staining of a clean deck, but waited to see. It faded quite a bit (not surprised) and I added a second coat earlier today. Based on past experience, I expect this to hold its color well for a couple of years, then I’ll hose it off (not powerwash) and add another coat on the horizontal surfaces in 2 years, and I’ll do the same on the vertical surfaces in about 5 years.
Question:	can this be used on wooden playsets/swingsets? Is it non-toxic
Answer:	It's used on decks quite a bit and I'm not aware of anybody ever having an issue. It's on my deck and more than one child has crawled around on that without growing a third eye.

Answer:	Check out pics on the Ready Seal website. Color varies based on wood type. I’m not sure about longevity on a fence, I’ve only used it in decks. With decks I’ve found that after getting the original staining established (two coats for decks in my experience), it lasts for about two years, then I hose it off (not powerwash) and add another coat to the horizontal surfaces. I do the same on the vertical surfaces about once every 5 years.

Answer:	I used it on spruce logs, fir beams and pine planks. All have taken on a different color depending on the type of wood. All are at an elevation of 7000 feet in the Utah mountains. All wood appears to be well preserved and very beautiful in color. Chose not to do tinting due to the need of reapplying in the future.

How much stain do you need to buy?

One gallon of wood stain covers approximately 250-350 square feed, which is enough for a small to medium deck. It should also cover both sides of a 25 foot long fence or a couple pieces of furniture.

Two Gallons

Two gallons of wood stain cover approximately 600 square feed, which should be more than enough for the standard deck project or a 50 foot long fence.

Three or more Gallons

Three or more gallons of wood stain will most likely only be needed on large projects, as they should cover over 850 square feed.

Note: Solid Color Stain requires two coats. You should effectively double your gallons purchased when using a solid.

How To Stain Your Wood Deck In 3 Easy Steps

Sweep debris from deck and then use a product such as Olympic Premium Deck Cleaner to penetrate the wood and lift dirt to the surface to be cleaned, as well as clean stains caused by mildew, dirt, algae and mold. Allow surface to dry.

STEP 2

Tape off any surfaces you don’t want stained. Also, avoid staining in direct sunlight or on hot surfaces because the stain will dry too fast to penetrate properly.

For clear, toner and semi-transparent stains, apply a thin coat with a high-quality brush, roller, paint pad, or spray. For solid stains, apply two thin coats with a brush, roller, or paint pad. To avoid lap marks, apply to a few boards at a time, keeping a wet edge.

Answer:	After using this product twice I don't believe it is that good. On a new deck (after allowing it to fully cure for 2 months), I purchased all of the prep products (which do work well), followed the directions to the letter and was very happy with the way it looked. However, by the following spring I was disappointed that it had already started to look faded. After another year I had to repeat the entire process. I purchased the 5 gallon pail and all of the prep supplies again thinking that now that the wood had absorbed the initial stain the second coat would do the trick. I am not at the 2 year mark and it needs to be done again. I won't use this again. I am thinking about going to an oil-based stain in spite of the additional clean up required. Good luck.

Answer:	I used this on my deck and all I have is grass around it. The instructions on the back of the bottle says to water down all vegatation before spraying this brightner on. Answer:	Exterior paint should only be used on the exterior. The One Coat is offered in interior.

Answer:	It is flat paint BUT the cans failed all five of them. Some with half of the can full or empty however you want to see it. Will never buy again
Question:	Snow white vs. swiss coffee? how would the color description differ between those two and which is a lighter, brighter white
Answer:	If you want it shiny use high gloss, if you want a satin duller finish ( which I prefer) just use the satin finish no need for clear coat

Answer:	If the paint it chipping and not smooth you may want to sand down certain areas. But if it’s fine, the black should cover the white no problem.

Answer:	Mine washed very nicely, but the wrinkles did not fall out when I hung them to dry. I think I am going to have to iron them.

Answer:	I did not order the star white ones...However, the "blackout" claim for my red ones are truly "blackout" !

Answer:	They pull back nicely. I used three panels for extra fullness and only pull back one of them. It compresses to a very narrow and neat column.

Diamond Brite paint gets shaken prior to being shipped. The mixing on average lasts 2-7 days. Before using the paint mix the paint with a stir stick or paddle that adequately mixes any loose particles on the bottom of the paint can.

Must do's

All surfaces being painted must be cleaned and prepped before painting. This gives your paint a better surface to stick to.

The paint flows best with a natural bristle or a premium quality roller cover with a plastic center.

Do not apply subsequent coats until your current coat is dry. Diamond Brite Oil Enamel Paint has a dry time of 10-12 hours.

Question:	How do appy on a cloudy day in the tropics ? A cloudy day here means.............it's going to rain . How critical is this
Answer:	Yes you may use it for this specific application. As suggested in a comment down bellow, you would want to make sure that it is fully cured before using the shower. Typically it would take 48 hours to cure but it may take longer depending on the environment.
Question:	Can you use a regular wood stain after applying
Answer:	Pressure treated lumber has to be dry.
Question:	I want to use this on a 6x6 wood beam at the opening to my walk-in shower (floor to ceiling). No direct shower spray. Will this seal it
Answer:	I doubt that it will eliminate splitting in wood slices. This simply slows the drying process. You’d need something like PEG to soak slices in. Polyethylene glycol.
Question:	Can it be used on green treated lumber
Answer:	Hello Huck Finn,Anchorseal 2 is used to coat the ends of freshly cut logs. Pentacryl is something you can soak a piece of "green" lumber in to displace the moisture in it. Hope that helps!

Answer:	Hi Jeremy, We would not recommend this product for fiberglass or a boat. Gel stains do much better on fiberglass and this product was not designed to be used as a marine coating.
Question:	Does it have a strong smell
Answer:	No more than the usual paint smell. Not objectionable to use. I painted a porch and deck so was outdoors. But, I would expect no problem to paint indoors. Just good practice to ventilate the area.
Question:	Can i paint my travertine stairs with this paint
Answer:	I would not. First of all, it is latex(water based) it will not hold up well on travertine. Secondly, WHY would you ever want to paint travertine? If the tile is porous, you will have to fill it with a cementitious fill and then paint it. If you DO paint it, I would prep it, fill it, prep again, and then use an EPOXY, one or two part, to completely cover and seal it. A good epoxy would be from Armorpoxy.com. Stay away from those big store brand garage floor epoxies.

Answer:	I believe it is. I used it over the previous stain and it seemed very close.
Question:	can this be put on with a airless sprayer
Answer:	This was my first time in using the new formula of Cabot. I personally prefer the old formula. I am in California and after the winter we have had, the stain is standing up very well to the weather. Waiting to see how often I will need to reapply. To put it on I recommend using a good bristle brush, I use a 3" brush. The pressure treated wood took the stain differently than the redwood did., but it did take it. I also applied the stain in the heat of summer for the best response to the wood. Good luck on your project.
