Question:	Can these be removed easily? I plan to use it in a temporary place and do not want to scratch the paint
Answer:	Had these attached to a door for 1 year, removed them without a trace. I suppose it all depends on the paint and the surface, but in my experience these did not scratch the paint. I'd imagine the hook could scratch the paint in the case of heavy, prolonged use, but it is a very rounded, smooth area where the back of the hook makes contact with the door.

Each device is assembled from a nickel-plated steel channel and a ceramic, ferrite magnet. On the side of the channel opposite the magnet, there’s a strip of double-sided adhesive foam. These fasteners can be used like industrial magnetic tape, but they’re much stronger. Each magnetic fastener has a flat base of 3” by almost 1”. The sides are a quarter of an inch thick. Because of their low profile, they’re inconspicuous and suitable for use inside the home. They can be used to hang art pieces from the wall or secure curtains in place. The heavy-duty ceramic magnets have a strong pull of 22 pounds on contact. This magnetic pull was determined by a vertical test. The pull is about 50% less when used on a vertical surface holding against a sliding force, and slightly less when used on painted steel. Answer:	I'd add that at that temperature, many/most magnets will demagnetize (some ceramics do so as low as 400F).

Answer:	I'm not sure what gator board is but these magnets are pretty strong. I use them to hold hand guns to the inside of my safe door. It holds my .380 through the holster.

Answer:	The magnets are very strong. I stuck one flat to my locker at work and ended up using a screwdriver to pry it up enough for me to pull it off the rest of the way with my fingers. The sticky side is pretty decent but the stickem will definitely pull off before the magnet lets loose. I think this size might be a bit much to keep a cat from opening a screen door but it could work. How convenient it is for the people using the door might depend on where on the door you put it. If you put it near where the door latches one of these might work. I wouldn't not use more than one unless you really want the door to be difficult to open.

Answer:	yes, I use 2 of them for a 11x12 calendar. I wasn't sure myself so I used a magnet on my almond refrigerator first before ordering them.

Answer:	It's one of those pretty, strong magnets. I think if the fabric isn't really heavy, you might be able to use one every 6 - 12" or so and it will work ON THE FABRIC. I don't know about an actual curtain rod. I was picturing using the hooks INSTEAD of a curtain rod. Just clips may not look very pretty though. The clips are large and bulky. I bought mine for my son's art work ... so it's only been holding up paper and what not on his easel. The clip grip is strong. It would pinch his finger (he's 2 years old) ... so I won't let him clip with it. I have to do it. Hope that helps you! Otherwise ... I'm a theatre teacher, so I use all kinds of tricks to hang things on sets that are cheap and pretty sturdy (working with HS kids) and easy to replace/fix if broken. Those adhesive hooks that have a rubber flap that makes a loop and rests back into the actual back of the hook work great for holding up small pieces of dowel. You could sew a pocket in the fabric and run the dowel through it. Put those adhesive clips at the top part of the door and the let the rubber flaps on the hook circle around and hold the dowel up. I can try to find a sample of what I'M talking about if you want to reply with this with "WHAT!!?" HAHAHA!

The magnets are tested to hold up to 61 lb. when placed in direct contact in a horizontal position on a flat, smooth ferrous metal surface. Multiple things can affect how much a magnet holds, including being placed in a vertical position, an air gap (such as drywall) being placed between the magnet and the surface to which it's attracting, and other factors related to ferrous metal content and texture of a surface. Question:	What is the scribe for
Answer:	The scribe is for scratching into something (like using a pencil to mark a line where you want to cut.... but because the scribe is metal, you can mark harder surfaces where a pencil may not work). You can use it to mark cut lines, or scratch initials/graphics into metal surfaces, etc. It's basically a hard, sharp tipped instrument for making marks onto something. But yes, it doesn't really have anything to do with the purpose of the magnet. It is a bit odd to try and relate a scribe to something designed to pick up small metal objects. There is an option for the telescoping magnet that does not have the scribe on the end, and it's actually (at this time) about $.20 more expensive. So it's purely a personal preference if you want one with the scribe or not.
Question:	Can this be used to retrieve jewelry dropped down bathroom sink
Answer:	Maybe for cosmetic jewelry. Magnetism attracts metal alloy items that contain iron/steel/stainless steel. Magnets do not attract gold, silver, brass, bronze or aluminum. Answer:	Certainly won’t adhere to plastic. Maybe you could epoxy steel plates around the boat. These magnets are pretty strong and would adhere to the plates.

Answer:	I would say you need a stronger magnet. Get a high grade 3/4 inch or 1/2 inch diameter magnet. It will be 5 times as strong and much easier to mount. They are more expensive but they really work well. http://www.kjmagnetics.com/proddetail.asp?prod=RX033CS-P, this is one option I would highly recomend, get 3, it is rated at 20 pounds and that is a real number, I had bought some good magnets on amazon before but they are no longer available. Only get a good neodymium magnet, the cheap stuff just isn't very strong and you will be disappointed no matter what they advertise.

Magnet & adhesive work best when applied at above 60 degrees Fahrenheit or 15.56 degree Celsius. For best results: 1)Allow magnet to reach room temperature then cut magnet with heavy duty scissors or hobby knife. 2)Apply magnet's dark gray side to large metal surface for several hours to flatten curl. Do not roll magnet strip in opposite direction to remove curl. 3)Clean applicable surface for adhesive with isopropyl alcohol and allow to dry. 4)Peel back liner from the adhesive and place item on adhesive. 5)Apply adhesive to surface with firm pressure 6)Allow adhesive to cure for a minimum of 24 hours or 72 hours to reach maximum bond with surface.

• Magnet designed to hold on one side only directly to flat steel surface. Multiple Poles are evenly spread across its surface to prevent sliding. It does not hold well to other magnets.

Answer:	I don’t know. I use this only on laminated card stock, but I would think that it might damage a wood finish. Perhaps try a sample and wait a while before trying to remove it to see the effect. The adhesive is very strong.
Question:	Would this be good to replace a magnet that came off a lightweight handbag? One of the magnet is still on the bag, I need one to glue on the flap
Answer:	Definitely NOT. This so-called roll-n-cut is unwieldy and incredibly weak; it won't even hold a sheet of computer paper to the fridge. You'd be better off with a neodyne round magnet or something in that like. This stuff is more like the light-weight magnet you find in the craft section for turning your photos into fridge magnets.

Answer:	Not likely. This hardly holds up laminated paper on a white board.

Answer:	For sure! They are strong little suckers and hold very well on a textured refrigerator.
Question:	Are these strong enough to open child safety cabinet locks
Answer:	No, I purchased these magnets for that purpose and found they were not even close to strong enough--they would not open the latch no matter what I tried. The original magnetic "key" for the Safety 1st child safety cabinet locks are roughly twice as strong as these.
Question:	On the back side, is the magnet exposed (black) or covered / coated? I've had black magnets before that marred a white refrigerator
Answer:	The magnets do not have any form of coating or adhesive on the back, they are just plain ferrite. The surface of the magnet is slightly textured from manufacture. I ditto your problem on a chrome raidiator I had, but these magnets not only hold well and do not slip down the polished chrome finnish, but if they are moved, they do not damage. Question:	Are the knobs removable by unscrewing
Answer:	If you look on the magnet side, there is a recessed nut screwed on to the bolt however, when I tried to unscrew the knob it was impossible to turn. So the answer is, it may be possible but it seems like the knobs are not meant to come off

Question:	Will this locate studs/nails in plaster lath construction walls
Answer:	No. Its terrible as a stud finder. Buy an electric one.
Question:	Is there a magnet/stud finder that will work and locate nails/stud inceiling to hang/anchor a sturdy hook to hang two hanging chairs for my daughters
Answer:	This will work. The drywall nails/screws are usually centered in the stud or ceiling joist. You have to move the magnet around until you find the first nail/screw. Then there should be another nail 16 inches or so on either side of the first nail you found. That should tell you which way the joists are running. Moving up or down the joists the nails will most likely be much greater than 16 inches apart Personally I would make sure not to hang the chairs from the same joist. And use a good strong hook and make sure it’s screwed in deep.
Question:	Will this hold on ceiling
Answer:	Maybe. How it finds the stud is the magnet is attracted to the drywall screws/nails. So it depends on how deep the screw/nail is under the mud and how strong the magnetic hold will be. I've never used it on a ceiling but on walls it usually holds on but sometimes falls off. You need to mark your spot then remove in in case it does fall. This is the best stud finder I've ever had, a carpenter showed it to me. I have never seen it in a hardware store only on Amazon. All the battery operated ones I've used are junk. This thing never fails.
Question:	I need something to locate nails or screws behind a popcorn ceiling
Answer:	I just tested it on some medium size popcorn material and it worked fine.
