Answer:	Nathan, Thanks for the question. The Moisture Range on this Hand Held meter for CORN is 10 - 40%. However, the clear plastic funnel which is provided to assist with consistent filling of the test cell, will not work well on corn over say 25 - 30%. This is due to the lack of flowability in the higher moisture content. I would suggest that you still fill the funnel, but pour the sample back out the large end at just 1 - 2" above the test cell. EVERY TIME and at the same Rate. With this consistency, you would have much greater repeatability between different tests. Answer:	Not on the standard instrument, but YES, Long Grain and Medium Grain Rough Rice have recently been added to the available Calibration list. These would need to be substituted on the list, for example, Oats and Milo could come off and we add in the Long Grain & Medium Grain Rough Rice. Answer:	I have a small camcorder whose built in light is is really inadequate and there is no mount for an external light. I mount my camcorder to this grip with a 36 LED light to the shoe adapter on top. I have used that arrangement on a tripod and hand held and it works well. However, it is clear that a heaver camera would be unstable as the grip is really narrow.

Answer:	The only function that requires solar power is the light sensing function which will indicate, even indoors a relative reading on how much light you are receiving at the test location. The ph and moisture function rely on natural electrical conductivity of the soil, this is achieved via the dissimilar metals at the tips, no power source is necessary.
Question:	does the meter make any beeping when it detects moisture or is it silent
Answer:	Since soil most often is in/close to neutral state (with pH value of 7), it is highly likely that you find the needle in display window stay still (because the default pH value is set at somewhere between 7 and 8) when you use it to test the pH value of soil. Customers sometimes are misled by this appearance and hence regard the tester as a defective unit by mistake.

Answer:	About as sturdy as a 1/16" dowel I would say. anything more than a few pounds of pressure will probably bend it. I have not had any trouble though; if too hard, just take a sample some other place!

Answer:	Yes you can leave it in the ground all summer, mine has been in soil for 6 months so far with no problems.

Answer:	The Meter will work in all soil/soilless media. the ceramic tip should be placed at about the level of the root system, which varies depending on plant and pot.
Question:	Just got my Blumat 50205. The instructions do not say whether to leave the water in the tube or pour it out
Answer:	Yes, just like with a regular Blumat sensor, they always need to be full of water. And when you soak it, be sure to only soak the bottom part - if you soak the top it can stop the meter from working properly.
Question:	I want a sensor that I can move around and test my many outdoor plants. Most below used them for all-summer one-plant placement. Will it do my way
Answer:	Yes you can do it your way but it is not instantaneous. Certain criteria have to be met for it to read accurately and it has to settle in for a few hours.I keep it in one location to act as the "base" then I use then I use the $7.00 ones you get at Walmart. I compare where the cheap ones are reading in comparison to the Blumat then I test the pots or areas I want to check.
