Answer:	Laser Level Line laser distance is related to the brightness of the environment. Generally, it can reach 10 meters in the daytime. If the light is dark, it can be more distant, even 25 meters.

Answer:	The WR300 does not but the Wixey WR365 does. The WR365 combines two functions, differential angle and level. Level in the WR365 is derived using what they TM as Dead Level Technology. The Level measurement is referenced to earth level (like a bubble level) but in this case calibrated at the factory and permanently stored in the gauge.
Question:	Is this laser etched now or still has the sticker? Accuracy problem with sticker fixed now
Answer:	Their accuracy is not the same although their resolution is. The TYPE1 has an accuracy of .1 deg. while the TYPE2 has an accuracy of .2 deg. Although someone said the TYPE1 is discontinued, it still appears on the Wixey website as being available. If anyone tells you the only difference is battery and backlight, they haven't read the specs from the manufacturer.

Answer:	Hi. That means every time you turn on the device, it is absolute zero. You could set the zero point according to your need when you want to measure relative angle. While when you power it off and on again, the zero back to absolute zero. So you could turn it off for anu angle you wish.

Answer:	It would work fine for aligning/checking/setting tile... especially if you want completely alignment on two or more walls, It projects three kinds of lines... 1) both horizontal and vertical lines simultaneously; 2) vertical only; and 3) horizontal only. We used it to align sound deadening panels in a 40'x66' room to put the panels on all 4 walls... and the alignment is perfect. Discovered that the floor is 1/4" lower on one side of the room than the other. If we had measured with a tape measure from the floor up, we'd have been 1/4" off true level. Obviously, not a big deal... but, still... the installation now is "perfect" for level. Would definitely purchase again.

Answer:	No. You can actually feel little grooves where they are stamped very shallowly into the metal. I can’t imagine a scenario where you would have trouble with the measurements rubbing since they are stamped in.

Answer:	The display does not flip. The round blue part is a knob you can tighten that says “lock” and “open” depending on which direction you turn it. I wouldn’t say that it actually does lock. It just gets very very tight. That being said. It’s certainly tight enough to hold the angle under normal working conditions. It’s a good tool to have.

Question:	How do you check calibration on this tool
Answer:	Absolutely! I use mine to run six piece molding so yes, it will do nicely with any amount of stacks or overlays or whatever. The cool thing is that you take a setting from the actual corner, lock it then transfer it to the saw. You remove one leg leaving you with the exact complement to the wall. Viola! Really a unique tool and one that I wouldn't attempt doing trim without any more than I would my Bosch laser tape measure. Both are indispensable to me now.

Answer:	Yes, I find the easiest way is to hold the crown molding in the miter saw at the same angle it will be applied at the ceiling. The Bora angle duplicator can then be used to determine the inside and outside corner angles to set the miter saw.

Answer:	The one I received was defective, it kept turning on by itself.
Question:	How wide an angle, in degrees, does this measure
Answer:	I would just check calibration by placing it next to a "very good" bubble level and confirm they both read "Zero". Then I would place it on roofing triangle and check for 45 degrees. Once you find a perfect level surface that is pretty much permanent, I would use that surface for future calibration checks. This may not be the best or most accurate way of checking calibration, but minus calibration tools, I think in most cases this would suffice. Hopefully someone out there has a more accurate way of checking if that is required.

Question:	Can you tighten down the t-bevel to hold the angle
Answer:	Hi Jesse. I'd have to say yes. It does read down to 0.1 degrees (1/10th of a degree) I find it easy to zero out (long press on the 'On' button), and can even rev. the display, from 45 degrees, to 135 degrees. Which I often do. The battery lasts an extremely long time, though I do keep a few spares. Others have complained about the knob, moving the displayed reading while tightening it on the angle to be read. But as you may likely already know, the key here is to just simply keep the knob snug enough to stay, yet just loose enough to move to the angle you are trying to find on your block of aluminum, or whatever. Question:	Can this digital angle gauge be calibrated if necessary
Answer:	Bevel refers to tilting the saw blade from the horizontal. Some miter saws do not have the bevel feature. Some have a single bevel, which allows the saw blade to be tilted in one direction, usually to the right. with a dual-bevel miter saw, the blade can be tilted to either the left or the right from horizontal. Do NOT confuse the bevel with rotating the table to the left or right to set the angle of the cut. They are two different things. To cut crown molding as described in this video, you do not use the bevel feature at all. Leave the bevel set at "0", which is perpendicular to the saw table. All you have to do is set the angle, by rotating the saw table left or right.

Answer:	Mitering and coping are two DIFFERENT methods of fitting the molding into an INSIDE corner. There is no way to cope an outside corner. All outside corners have to be mitered. This tool is designed to help you set your saw at the proper angel for cutting miter joints,for both inside and outside corners. If you are coping the inside corners, you don't need to know the exact angle, so the tool is of no use in that situation.

Answer:	I have never personally had to make a bevel cut but this tool could measure any type of angle. If you do woodworking, this tool will definitely come in handy for crown molding and other situations where you have to figure out an angle to get a tight precision fit. I am glad I own this tool as it has helped me many times.
Question:	Can I get the factory calibration back after I re-calibrate it
Answer:	My 505A-7 was shipped on the 8/04/14. On the box there was a label about being laser engraved for accuracy. The numbers and degrees marks are raised above the surface of the metal ( I would say less that a .001 of an inch) for you can feel them. In other words the surface is not smooth like the information on the legs. The information on the legs looks to be printed for the surface is very smooth. This tool is very accurate, I've check it with several of my other degree measuring tools.
Question:	I don't get it,Why magnets only on the bottom? Saw blades are vertical and side magnet makes more sense. Many mentioned weak magnet
Answer:	I just received one purchased in 11/2014 and although it says "laser etched" it looks more like a sticker to me. In any event, mine has the 'mismatched scales' problem others have reported. The package did not appear to have been opened before I received it but it may well have been, or perhaps someone received it before I did and checked right through the packaging before opening it to observe the issue. Mine is off about 1/2 degree which doesn't sound like much but it actually makes a difference on larger moldings and casings. I am contacting Starrett for help - I think that's better than just doing a replacement with the seller since if everyone starts doing this we will pass the bad ones around for years.

Answer:	No real calibration. You can zero it out at any angle, to get the difference from one position to the next . or it will show you level

Answer:	Because you want to first zero it ideally from your table saw's steel or cast iron insert plate, or if you don't have that, cast iron top. The magnetic base helps a great deal to prevent tilting the instrument when pressing the zeroing button. Making your measurement without first zeroing only will be accurate if: A. your table is perfectly level to within 5/100s of one degree (very unlikely unless NASA or JPL made the floor of your shop and calibrated your saw), B. your insert plate is perfectly level, C. your 7434 arrived (probably from thousands of miles away after weeks or months inside a shipping container that resulted in large temperature, humidity, and atmospheric pressure fluctuations) with a perfect calibration, AND D., your 7434 has never sustained an injury that will alter its accuracy by more than 1/1000. In other words, only a fool would use this before zeroing, and that zeroing should be done on your table every time before you measure the present angle of your blade. Therefore, the magnet is in the correct location, and a second magnet would cause problems. And the magnet is NOT weak. That's BS. In fact, it is significantly TOO strong and easiky causes jarring impacts that disables the 7434.
