Answer:	This tool is great for hanging pictures and such. As a handyman years ago I used it regularly and found it just great as a part of my pouch. I don't know about an instruction manual. It is just a level and the two moving things really are acurate.

Answer:	Shortest = 10", longest = 28.5". Excellent used as a straightedge and hole spacer, but performance as a level extremely poor in my experience.

Answer:	The clear display package it comes in is considered to be the “case”. The display package opens up like a book once you cut the black band keeping the two sides together. If you’re expecting a traditional nylon case, then you will be disappointed. I was disappointed when I found out there was no nylon case, but the provided packaging works just fine for me now. Thank you.

Answer:	No, only horizontally. When you go vertical the laser isn't a sharp line
