disconnect + turn off your humidifier tank: fill the tank with [ 1cup] of water and add [1 cup] of [bleach/undiluted White vinegar].

Answer:	The cord is about 6 feet, maybe a little bit shorter, and it has a 2 prong plug. I use a power strip or extension cord when I use it and it works fine for me. I love mine, I got the hippo and it’s adorable. It works really well and makes a fog-like mist. I hope this helps.

Answer:	Try a mix of bleach & water 50/50. Doesn't have to be alot. Don't use anything abrasive use soft cloth. Also when using humidifier only use distilled water not tap water! That seems to work best for me.

Answer:	HI Angela, You can see the water and how much is there, You just look at it and you can see where the water level is, At night , you would have to put a light on, to look at it, I am not sure you know this, But if if there is no water left, it shuts off by itself, you will see the red light... Question:	how much water and how long does it run
Answer:	If they are pure essential oils, do not add them. Over time they will eat through the plastic. It's the same reason oils are only kept in glass bottles and if you add them to a drink it needs to be in a stainless steel bottle. They are too potent for synthetic material.

Answer:	Part 2- please read part 1 of my answer first!! A: I guess there's a character limit lol! Ok so tutorial continued from my above post: This is the super easy part! Take you Essential oil blend you made or purchased that you want to infuse into the pads and add just enough oil to coat the bottom of the container. Add your clean and dried used scent pads to the container. You can add a few pads at a time .if you have a few like I do, I usually infuse 8 pads at a time, adding 3 pads at a time, add more oil to the container. Add just a little for now. No need to saturate them yet! Put lid on and give it a good shake. Continue this process until all your pads are in the container. Now once all the pads are in the container just look At the pads and see how much they soaked up The oil. You want the pads to look/ be fully coated but obviously not dripping in oil. I've tried it both ways... where I filled up the jar with oils and allowed the pads to infuse that way but I've found it just makes a mess when you insert them into the scent pad compartment on the humidifier with dripping oils. It's not necessary and just wastes oils. So just add enough that the pads can soak up. This may entail letting them sit for a few days, check on them and add more scent/ oil as needed. When I infuse my pads I put just enough oil in the container to cover them. Store in your refrigerator. Then I check back a few days and the pads have the perfect amount infused. Before I use them, I let them infuse for a few days, like 3 or 4. I shake them up as often as I think of it just to stir them around because the pads will stick to each other if you don't and then you'll end up with dry patches with no oils and who wants that? Lol I try not to open the jar during this time but I'll check them to see if some stuck together. Don't use your fingers... use a pair of tweezers to handle them any time you touch them. So basically you've just knocked off or hacked the vapor/ scent pads! Keep the stored in the refrigerator AS IS until you're ready to use them. Again, to use, take them out with tweezers and place in the scent/ vapor compartment of your humidifier! Enjoy! Hope this helps you

Answer:	Is it on a flat hard surface? Mine did that on carpet. Once I put it back on a hard surface it was fine.
Question:	Is the water level visible on the owl
Answer:	I am not sure what insurance you have. If it is medically necessary for your health the doctor may write a request for you to own one. I believe with a HSA you can save money and use it towards anything that is considered medically necessary. I know there are some insurance companies that cover specific things and equipment, but humidifiers I am not sure about.I hope this helps.
Question:	Can I use essential oils with it
Answer:	Are you using fresh water each day? I've had this for a month or so and haven't notched that.. I rinse it out and put fresh water in it each night, and have given it a good clean once a a week. I use young living thieves cleaner.. I spray the inside and use a small scrub brush and spray with the kitchen faucet sprayer.

Question:	How do you clean the part where the mist comes out? Not just the top
Answer:	Great question!! And the cleaning instructions ignore that part. So I did a little experiment. I tapped off the hole on the top, poured vinegar down the hole and voila!! I ran hot water down the hole to flush off all the remaining mineral build up. So, that worked for me....I'll bet your home is spotless!!
Question:	Does this humidifier leave any kind of residue or white film on anything while it operates
Answer:	Thank you for your inquiry. White dust is caused by minerals in your water being expelled from the unit as part of the mist. If you are experiencing white dust, we advise mixing in some distilled water to reduce the concentration of minerals in your water. Answer:	Definitely. Without knowing the exact measurements, I would say my bedroom is maybe 20 feet long, 15 feet wide, with at least 15 foot ceilings. And it works just fine in here.

Question:	What are the 8 "white noise" pre-set sounds? Is one of them campfire?? (Or is there a way to load a "fire" sound
Answer:	There are I believe 11 preset sounds. Unfortunately, a campfire is not one of them. You can not load any new sounds. I use the wind sounds a lot more like ocean waves and although that is another sound I like the wind sound better. I do have to say though that I absolutely love this machine. My daughter sleeps so much better with it. I love that you can preset it to go on and off when you want it to.
Question:	Does there have to be 1 min. between programs? I would like for it to change from red (sleep) to green (wake) without turning off in between
Answer:	Great question! If there is any overlap, the second program will override the first. For example, if your bedtime program runs until 8:05am, and your morning program is set to start at 8:00am... your Rest will switch from bedtime to morning at 8:00am. Question:	I'm interested in getting 2 - for our 3 year old son & our baby's nursery. How does the app work with 2 units? Can they be programmed independantly
Answer:	Yes each device is managed separately in the Hatch app, really easy/inuitive. I actually have one for my toddler and newborn too - it's the only sound machine out there that I came across that you can program by time!:)
Question:	Will my kid override me? How limited can his options be from inside his room? Can he change it after one of my programs begins
Answer:	It is possible to control the light and sound settings directly from the device, BUT in the newest app update they added a "Toddler Lock" feature that fixes this problem. During program run-times you can disable all controls on the device itself, so our kids can't override our programs. It's been very helpful for us.
