Answer:	Hi, The 'Full' bright - I find is very 'Bright' White, (Not harsh blue white) will brighten a room, The lesser 2 switch settings I find - are more a subdued bright white light .. The 'Middle' switch is a 2/3 glow but you could look at it as it Half lights the room, The 'Weakest' switch is a weaker 1/3 white (still more Whiteish) a more comfortable white. Hope this helps. I like this x6 "D" battery light.

Answer:	L did research too, thats why I bought the UTS 60 day Lantern. There is a little sister one which looks the same, (need 4 batteries?) but it only lasts for 30 days. The 60 Days one needs 6x "D Batteries" and using it for about 8 hours a night I find it lasted over the 2 months. If you buy the better brand "D" batteries you should be as satisfied as I am. I looked for months for a 'good price', suddenly there was one so I bought it. This lantern has 3 different Light intensidies Bright, Medium and low. I mostly use the "Low" mode - thats why it lasts so long. Enjoy !!!

Answer:	It has the rechargeable battery, but if you can't recharge it, it takes 3 'D' size batteries that go into the same spot in the bottom that the rechargeable battery goes. Just to clarify, you can't have both the rechargeable battery AND the 3 'D' batteries inside it at the same time so I carry the 'D's' separately if I think I'll need them. It is a great lantern and the 3 different brightness levels are helpful . The brightest level is actually too bright to sit around a picnic table with, in my opinion. It is not a big heavy lantern but puts out more light, when needed, than the older big heavy ones.

Answer:	no batteries, completely solar. As for gloomy winters, if they are directly exposed to the sun uv rays (which comes thru either way), they should be good. Obviously, since we get less day time in winter, all solar products stay lit for a shorter period of time. you have an option to turn them off (with a switch) and save their energy for the specific nights you want. Mine stay on as long as we are out there for hours after the other solar lights go off because I use them on specific nights.

Answer:	It costs only $13 so it's made in China, if it was made in New York it would cost $130, if London $230 :)
Question:	Where is the on/off switch for this lantern
Answer:	Just disassembled mine to make the lens "frosty" instead of clear (keep from burning my retinas!). There's a microswitch on top of the battery compartment. A long spring connected to the LED array presses against the switch to turn it off--extending obviously releases the switch. The battery compartment cover can be installed in 4 positions (rotating 90 degrees between). If not in the correct one of the 4, the spring would never press the normally-closed switch (opening the circuit and turning off the light). If your doesn't turn off, I'd suspect wrong orientation of the cover plate or that the spring has fallen off. Either would be a pretty simple fix. Curiously, I also found the long center screw was installed upside down. The bottom end plastic is shaped to capture the nut. It made initially disassembly slightly more difficult (you'll need a 7mm socket or open-ended wrench).

Answer:	Hello, the ad is not actually showing a battery but the collapsed lantern. It does take AA, 3 of them. I didn't buy my original lantern on Amazon but I came to buy a replacement one and looked at the questions. Oh, mine is having to be replaced because it kept getting borrowed once people saw how great it is until it finally failed to be returned. I'm buying several more as gifts!
