Detecting Range

The careful observer of this product will notice that Heath Zenith reduced their warranty on their "dual bright" motion sensors from what was originally 10 years to 2 years if that tells you anything.

Answer:	Its an outdoor fixture..so, yes it is made to take outdoor weather however it must be installed properly. Answer:	The light only activates at night and not during the day - unless it is really overcast.You can make your sensitive and distance adjustments during the day - and the light does not come on but you will se a small red light blink instead - to let you know when the light would come on.I really like these lights, I have used 3 of them for many, many years and only recently just replaced 2 of them - the plastic covering over the sensor eventually gets brittle and cracks when you press on it - but the rest of the unit will hold up forever.

Answer:	We have only had ours mounted a few months but did have some snow a few days and they still worked great. No difference than warmer weather.

Answer:	Only have one button on the back in a recessed area. No sliding switch. Wonder if they accidentally left it off ? If I click it it changes the mode each time I click, but it is hard to figure out which corresponds to A, B, & C in the instructions. Wonder if I should send the set of 4 that are like that back?

Question:	Is it dual bright
Answer:	Yes, i ordered the two pack and one works great--the other not--it worked correctly one evening and then only will show the small little "pre-lights" and will activate to come on again--i took it down, changed all the batteries--had installed brand new alkaline batteries originally,--but did so again, hoping to "re-set it", but no luck--I ordered these sent to me from overseas so not worth the effort and expense to return it--very disappointing as the one works great!
Question:	Day time is working to
Answer:	How long the batteries will last really depends on how often the lights are triggered and stay on. I have had my unit for a few months now and have it installed in a dark area where I need lights to see where I am walking. These lights are triggered to turn on a few times each night. So far, the batteries seem to be powering the lights at full strength even after the few months of use. Hope this helps.

Answer:	This model does not have automatic low to high brightness change. But there is a switch to manually change from low to high brightness on the sensor head.

Answer:	Only comes on when dark.

Answer:	When power is on, the PIR sensor enters a “warm-up” period for about 40 seconds, then automatically switches into AUTO MODE. During AUTO MODE, by switching the main switch OFF for about 1 second then ON, the PIR sensor will automatically change into MANUAL MODE from AUTO MODE. In MANUAL MODE, the lights will remain ON, and will NOT be controlled by time duration or ambient light (LUX) levels. The MANUAL MODE will change to AUTO MODE in 6 hours automatically. During MANUAL MODE, by switching the main switch OFF over 30 seconds then back ON again, the PIR sensor will reset to the “warm-up” period.
