3 best pc fan controllers
we can provide information on PC fan controllers and their relation to LED strip lights, novelty lighting, lighting ceiling fans, and tools for home improvement.
PC Fan Controllers:
Functionality: PC fan controllers are devices used to manually or automatically control the speed of the cooling fans inside a computer. They are essential for optimizing the balance between cooling performance and noise levels.
Manual vs. Automatic Control:
- Manual Controllers: Users can manually adjust fan speeds using knobs or buttons on the controller. This allows for precise control over the cooling system.
- Automatic Controllers: These controllers adjust fan speeds based on temperature sensors, ensuring optimal cooling without requiring constant manual adjustments.
Number of Channels: Fan controllers come with a specific number of channels, each controlling a set of fans. This allows users to manage different fan setups independently.
Compatibility: It's crucial to ensure that the fan controller is compatible with the types of fans in your system. This includes both the size (120mm, 140mm) and the type (3-pin or 4-pin PWM).
Related to LED Strip Lights, Novelty Lighting, and Ceiling Fans:
RGB Lighting Integration: Some advanced fan controllers also support RGB lighting control. This is especially popular in gaming setups where users can synchronize the lighting effects of their fans with other components such as LED strip lights or even their gaming peripherals.
LED Strip Light Controllers: In conjunction with fan controllers, LED strip light controllers allow users to adjust the color, brightness, and lighting effects of LED strips installed in or around their PC case.
Novelty Lighting: Fan controllers can enhance the aesthetic appeal of a PC setup by controlling novelty lighting elements. These may include unique lighting patterns, colors, or effects to add a personal touch to the system.
Tools for Home Improvement:
- Screwdrivers and Mounting Hardware: Installing a fan controller may require basic tools such as screwdrivers to secure the controller in the PC case.
- Cable Management Tools: Tools for organizing and managing cables connected to the fan controller contribute to a clean and tidy setup.
- Adhesive Strips or Velcro: Useful for securing LED strips or controllers in specific locations within the case.
When choosing a fan controller, consider the number of fans you have, the type of fans, and whether you want additional features such as RGB lighting control. Additionally, ensure that the controller is compatible with your PC case and other lighting elements for a cohesive and well-managed system.

User questions & answers
Question: | Hello. If you plug a few 3-pin fans into this product, and plug the 4-pin connector into your motherboard, will you be able to control the fan speed |
Answer: | It will work with any product. |
Question: | Will this work with the Be quiet wing 3 case fans |
Answer: | The Internal USB HUB is powered by a Molex adapter, and provides additional USB 2.0 Headers directly from a USB 2.0 header from your motherboard. https://nzxt-site-media.s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/uploads/download/attachment/594/Internal_USB_Hub-Manual-0722-ver02_-for_Web.pdf |
Question: | Isn't it dangerous to plug so many fans into one mobo fan header |
Answer: | It comes with the SATA cable for power and a USB 2.0 cable to plug into your motherboard to give it the direct connection. |
Question: | Fan hub work with rgb fusion |
Answer: | No, the Commander Pro does not have ports to control the RGB functions of fans; it can only control fan speed. The LED ports are intended for RGB strips only. You must have the Corsair RGB Fan LED hub to control fan lighting, which comes included with most multi packs of Corsair fans. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can I control 6 fans rgb color and 6 fan controls such as rpm’s |
Answer: | It plugs into both. It uses a sata connector for power and a motherboard fan header for speed control. The motherboard connection is not required if you use the remote speed control device. |
Question: | Will this be able to control 3 hd120s and 3 sp120s |
Answer: | No, power comes from computer power supply. I just looked at the box and spare manual switch. You could rewire a external power supply to work, but then you would have a expensive extension cord with many tiny fan plugs. |
Question: | I'm really confused... do i even need the lighting node thing to control the lighting effects for the fans and led strips and link them up |
Answer: | You can plug 3pin fans into the 4pin headers but as far as I can tell any 3pin fans in 4pin headers run at full speed. The only 3pin fan that able to be controlled by motherboard or remote was in Fan1 header for variable speeds. I am not sure the 4pin headers can be voltage control like on a motherboard except in Fan1 header with a 3pin fan. Fan1 header appears to work just like the motherboard header able to be PWM or Voltage controlled. All 3pin headers in the fan controller were able to be voltage control to match Fan1 header speed connected with either a 3pin or 4pin fan. |
Question: | So i assume corsair wouldn't be nice enough to include an LED strip with the commander pro |
Answer: | Yes, which ever fan, 4 pin or 3 pin is plugged into Fan1 header will report back to the motherboard its RPM. You have to connect the Motherboard Cable into Input and motherboard fan header. Do not use the Manual Remote if you want to see RPM. Manual Remote only lets you select 3 speeds and bypasses motherboard all together. |
