If the power goes out, when it comes back on, all of the fan lights come on and must be manually shut off at the remote. This is a feature of the remote, not the fan.

Answer:	To a certain extent. The face plate on mine came off fairly easily to wipe the blades. You can get most of the dust off if you're patient but, I'm not sure about pet hair.

Answer:	Hmmm, good question! I have a 16 lb kitty that likes to do the same but he's not allowed in the bedroom where we have this fan, so I did a little stability test of my own just now. Although it has a pretty large base, the base isn't weighted and the fan does wobble substantially when I pushed against it so I'm thinking if you have an overly enthusiastic kitty that likes to push up and rub against things (ours kinda rams himself against anything he rubs on more than brushing lightly against things), the weight of a 17 lb cat might would possibly knock this thing over. I'd suggest one of the Lasko Fans that has the faux wood trim - I've seen them in person at the store and they seem to be a bit more stable than this fan.

In order to get the fan to work with a wall switch, you would need the WCS213 Wall Control by Minka. Otherwise, a normal switch would not turn it off or on.
