It has a low profile for added head room, but I have to admit, when I installed it, the light did not work. I have yet to take it apart to see if the wiring to the light came disconnected... I am hoping it is not bad. I NEED the light more than the fan in that room.

Answer:	it only allows up to a 60 watt bulb, so not really. bright enough by itself. It's ok for me because I have other lighting in the room though.

This works for the fan and one light but the other light needs its own control switch and the controller has only one.

Answer:	This remote will control 2 separate lights (up/down, top/bottom, left/right). This remote will not adjust ONE light brighter and dimmer (up and down). As either button is held down the luminosity cycles between the dimmest and the brightens on ONE of the lights until the button is released. You can not use the top button to brighten and the lower button to dim a SINGLE light.

Answer:	You are correct in that all six wires are not addressed in the instructions that come with the unit. The four wires that are on the output side are black, white,blue, and orange. The black and white wires connect to the fan motor. The blue and orange wire are associated with the light assembly. The blue wire as indicated in the instructions when connected to the light will vary the voltage to the light when using the light down button on the remote. If you use the orange wire instead of the blue wire the voltage will vary to the light when using the light up button on the remote. Either button on the remote will work in dimming the light when pressed for a few seconds but it does not follow the wording on the button. I am not familiar with a lighting assembly that would use both the blue and orange together. It would most likely require some sort of a separate lighting module to accommodate both light up and down buttons.

Answer:	I have installed quite a few similar fan speed / light controllers over years. This is the first one I've ever seen that has TWO wires for light control, one BLUE one labeled "DOWN LIGHT" and one ORANGE one labeled "UP LIGHT". Frankly, I was stumped! I tried all of the normal ways to get an answer on this, including the instruction manual (which doesn't document the orange one at all), reading all reviews here (Amazon; all answers I saw were WRONG), Google search on the model number, which, although it doesn't appear in the instructions, is on the unit itself as: FAN28r-240W. I did find a manual online that matched the unit, but it didn't explain the purpose of the 2nd wire either; you can't connect it as shown by that if you have only a single light wire (typically BLUE) on your ceiling fan. By the way, there is NO customer support for this product; NO phone number, NO email address, and NO mailing address, either on the instruction manual or box (later I noticed Chia Wei Electric Co., Ltd.). What's an electrical engineer and handy man like me to do? REVERSE ENGINEER! So that's what I did. I connected TWO SEPARATE bulbs (with common neutral, WHITE), one to the BLUE and one to the ORANGE. It turns out that the controller allows you to control TWO separate light circuits! COOL! So what do you do if you only have one (BLUE) light wire? I suggest connecting it to the ORANGE "UP LIGHT" wire--yes, I know that means connecting BLUE to ORANGE--so that your TOP button on the controller will control your light. If you connect ORANGE to ORANGE, then you will have to use the bottom controller button, which is about 1/3 the size of the top one, to control your fan light. To conclude, I wish I had noticed the extra ORANGE wire on this controller before I bought it (since I only needed ONE light control wire), and I am annoyed that I couldn't find a good answer--ANYWHERE!--as to how it worked. But I'm going to run with it, and just keep in mind that a dual-control unit does exist in case I ever decide to get a fan with that feature.

Answer:	If it’s the sensor in the receiving unit it won’t work.. but if it’s just an issue with the remote then it will. This comes with the receiver and remote so if it works you will have an extra receiver.

Answer:	Be aware that they might send you a totally different receiver, which may or may not fit your fan. I got the one with totally different form and had to return as it didn't fit by size. So, I didn't have a reason to test how it works. The original Hampton Bay is continuous one and it doesn't work with ALL LEDs. I could circumvent it by using one incandescent bulb with all others being LEDs. It worked in my case because my fan has many bulbs (few rounded 60 or 100 Watts and a few candelabra base with 40 Watts originally) and they not visible - inside the fixture. So, I added one incandescent (smaller 40 Wt) and then all others being LED. Works ok this way.

2, Installing receiver in ceiling fan

WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, remember to disconnect power. The electrical wiring must meet all local and national electrical code requirements. The electrical source and fan must be 110~120 volt, 60Hz.

Installation is a breeze and the looks of the remote are second to none. Just make sure you have room in ceiling fan for the remote box. only 5 wire hook up. The most challenging part was placing the receiver in the canopy. Connecting the receiver to the fan was child's play and the receiver to the house wiring was even easier.

Answer:	If the remote does not work in the default “all up” position, then the only way is to remove the fan and check the dip switch positions on the remote box inside. Both units should match. Change the remote to match the fan.

Answer:	I'm not sure...I'm using it on a Hampton Bay ceiling fan and light, and it works percectly. If you still have your old remote open the battery compartment and take note of the dip switch settings, you will need to make the same settings on the new remote.
