| Answer: | These "G40" light bulbs are not bright; their is brightness rated at 150 L (Lumens). For comparison, a classic 100 watt filament bulb will typically be 1500 to 1800 L. These would not be bright enough for a vanity mirror in a bathroom. They could work for the vanity mirror type that you place on your dressing table and look right into, if there were a ring of, say, half a dozen of them, around the circumference of the mirror. Another consideration, especially for a vanity mirror, is the color of the light. These G40 bulbs are warm white, defined as 2700K, which would be my choice but would be too yellow-ish for some people. They are not daylight white color, 6000K, as has been asked. |

In my opinion, there is no way you would use it in a lamp that you use to read by - it’s just not bright enough. |
