Answer:	The companies have corrupted the team's meaning. Those used to both mean a bright light of around 5000K color temperature. The incandescent bulbs that were ubiquitous 5 yrs ago would give sifter, orange-colored light. Color temperature on those is ~2700 -3000(ish). Google kelvin light temperature for more.

Answer:	I just put 40 something of these in my house. On the first day I had left the bathroom lights on and two of the eight turned off within a minute of each other. I took one of them out and noticed it was pretty warm. I turned the fixture off for about 30 minutes. When I returned, I turned the lights back on and the seven in the fixtures were working fine. I screwed in the one I pulled out and it came on just fine. It may be a safety mechanism where a certain temp will trip an internal switch or something. If so, I have no issue with it. If not, they're going back to Costco.

The worst application is the fixture in a sauna room, the led light bulb itself will create heat plus the fixture's gaining heat from outside, the tiny circuit board inside the bulb will be baked to death.  Suggest you call feit electric at 562-463-2852 to get solid answer with your specific application.

Question:	Can these lights be used outdoors
Answer:	I don't know that my answer will help with your specific question, but here is my observations about these bulbs: I never actually put my clamp meter to them to measure the actual wattage consumed by them, but I purchased two different batches of these at different times (same brand, same bulb, same part number, same amazon item number). It's been a while now so I don't remember which was which, but the packaging on one batch said 8.5 and the packaging on the other batch said 10.5. In my case, either was substantially lower than what I was replacing, so I didn't really mind that much. One noticeable thing that is slightly annoying but not really a "deal breaker", is that the batch I purchased earlier come on almost instantly and go off almost instantly. The batch I purchased later still come on and go off pretty fast, but it takes a noticeably longer amount of time for the second batch to come on than the first batch. They also "dim out" slower than the first batch when the switch is turned off. I would estimate the difference to be a max of 1 second, probably a bit less. (I installed some from each batch in a group of recessed fixtures in our kitchen, all on the same switch.) Once on, the light color and output of the different batches seems to me to be the same. It seems to me that at some point they changed the way they are designed OR maybe they purchase them from another manufacturer and they changed their supplier. The minor inconsistencies between the two batches don't really bother us, and the energy savings over time should be significant since these lights are on for many hours per week. I replaced a total of 585 watts worth of bulbs for bulbs that took somewhere between 75 and 95 watts and I think the LEDs actually put out a bit more light than the incandescent bulbs I replaced. (Another note:, I did end up replacing my Lutron dimmers with dimmers designed for LED bulbs -- not exactly an insignificant expense.)
