Answer:	I have paying around 31 for each filter for a few years. I assume for 62 you will be getting a 2 pack. But, check the quantity before you hit purchase key

Answer:	The FXHTC filters at 25 microns. Chlorine taste and odor are greatly reduced. The filter is not designed to be used with microbiologically unsafe water. As far as the particulates contained in chlorine treated water, you will need to check with the manufacturer (GE).

Answer:	This filter will work on the GE GXWH30C. I am not sure that the #01 at the end is significant. The filter is approximately 4" in diameter, about nine inches long.
Question:	what is the micron level for this filter
Answer:	Im not sure. I live in the country and use well water. So, this one (The GE) I was hoping for about 20 micron, then I have two more smaller ones after that one is 10 micron and the other is 3. If you are on city water anything is better than nothing and when you get ready to replace either Home Depot or Ace Hardware will have an assortment, marked as to what size they are. As far as getting the filter off, I dont have a clue. Two or three changes and it becomes very difficult to remove. Ive tried teflon tape, petroleum jelly and a liquid silicone. Nothing helps. One of the parts should be made of metal. The two plastic parts make for some difficult times in removing the old filter. Buy some extra O rings so you can change them out when the original becomes stretched, and it will.

Question:	does it have any effect on the pressure
Answer:	I have had the filter for some time, but have never seen any issues with flow (even when filter is ready to be changed). We are on a well with pressure range of 45 to 65 psi.
Question:	what is the filtered flow rate of this filter
Answer:	It depends on the cartridge you choose. The flow rate of the housing isn't a big deal, it's the cartridge that does the filtering and different types of cartridges filter faster/slower for bigger/smaller particles.
Question:	Can this be mounted horizontally
Answer:	It should be mounted as depicted. It comes with a steel bracket, and needs to be attached to a wall or studs. I attached my bracket to a 4 ft 2x6, which in turn was attached to a stud in the wall behind. It would certainly still function if rotated 90 degrees, but you'd spill out a half gallon of water at each filter change, and any goo would collect on the bottom side of the filter. If needed, add some elbows in your plumbing to mount as shown.

Answer:	10" x 5" is the size of the filter. Search Amazon for "GXWH40L replacement filter" and several options for filters are provided. The lower the micron size you choose, the finer the sediment particles are filtered out of your water. For example, a 5 micron filter catches more than a 25 micron filter.

Answer:	I'm sure there is. As I recall, the fitting on the filter is a 1/4" push-to-connect tube fitting. You would need to identify the thread on the copper end and buy a fitting with a matching female thread on one end and a 1/4" push-to-connect tube on the other end. Then use a short length of 1/4" polyethylene tube between the two push-to-connects. Take the filter to home depot and ask for help in the plumbing department.
Question:	Can the fxwtc filter be used in place of the fxutc filter
Answer:	It doesn't really need any adaptor. You can cut the existing hose in half, the one from the water source to ice maker. The ends of this filter are made so that you kind of grip and twist to get a nice seal. The directions are good and it is easy. Just make sure you read them....and follow them. :)
Question:	Is this a 2 pack or are there just 1 in the pack at the given price
Answer:	I'm sorry I didn't attempt to do it myself as my fridge/freezer was too heavy for me to move it to get behind it where the filter is attached to the fridge. Someone did it for me. Best get an obliging plumber or builder. It seemed very simple and took only about 10-15 mins. You must turn off the tap first that is connected to the fridge. Then at the fridge end, simply cut off the cable with the old filter - don't try to undo the old filter; it is quite impossible. My fridge has come supplied with a very long cable - enough to have it cut off every six months to replace the filter. The new filter is attached to the fridge cable at an upright position. (You know which way is up from the print on the new filter.) You have to remove the blue clip around the new filter, then insert the fridge cable into it and push as far as the cable will go (about an inch) and then put the clip back to secure the cable. Have a large bowl nearby to catch surplus water dripping out of the old cable. There are instructions with the filter. Get a strong person to do it. Keep the new filter in the upright position behind the fridge with the tape advertised as "no more nails". Buy the red coloured one - not the blue which is not as strong. After connecting up the new filter, you must run the water through the fridge until the water is completely clear. May take several pints. The carbon in the filter will blacken the water and needs to be washed away before ready to drink. To move the fridge without damaging the kitchen floor, use a cardboard sheet under the feet of the fridge to push it out if the fridge is against a wall like mine is. Remember to turn the tap back on once the new filter is secured. Good luck!

Answer:	They are different sizes. One is 3/4" pipe fittings the other 1" pipe fittings. Take different filter cartridges. Check the specs out one might filter different or more microns than the other but I don't know that without researching that from manufacturers specs.

Answer:	The one I have has a pressure relief for filter replacement and bleeding air once filter is replace.

Answer:	I used this on a well system. The way i new to replace the filter was if the filter had turned a dark grey color. For my use, this was approximately once per month. An average 5 micron filter is all you need, typically.

Answer:	The NSF 42 Certification in the User Manual does not help to answer this question. "The NSF/ANSI 401 addresses the ability of a water treatment device to remove up to 15 individual contaminants..." I never received any tie-backs with my order and I ordered quite a few valances and curtains. I guess they have always been a separate item even though the picture shows the tie-backs as if they were included.

Question:	Do I need to treat the intial startup like I would a filter change
Answer:	Yes, you have to go through the setup process which is very similar to a filter change.
Question:	my light doesn't flash five times after putting the battery back in
Answer:	That light does not actually mean anything, its pre set to go off after a certain amount of time regardless of if your filter is good or bad. The smartest thing to do would be avoid the GE system all together, but in your case, just ignore the light. It will deceive you, because it doesn't actually reflect the status of your filter, so it could be a happy good light status even though your filter is bad, or it can make you waste money and tell you to replace a perfectly fine filter. Its not that hard to replace the AND install a new unit, the first time is about 10 harder than the second time. I exchanged 3 of these due to defects. Later I installed a whirlpool unit, and it was so much simpler than the GE.

Answer:	The answer "ROES-50 system uses a high quality, .0001 micron Reverse Osmosis membrane and 3 carbon filters so it is designed to remove high levels of hormones and pharmaceutical drugs from water" is troublesome. Terms like "high quality" and "high levels" are arbitrary, and it's a safe bet people don't want arbitrary amounts of contaminants removed.
Question:	Hi apec, i see your offshore imitator is offering transparent 1st stage filter housings, why don't you offer one as well
Answer:	I bought the ROES-50 RO system in January 2016 and for the most part it has been great. Bought the pump to go with it as well as an auxiliary accumulator tank to use in addition to the smaller bladder tank that comes with the system so we can draw a couple of gallons of RO water at near full pressure at one go (set to 60 psi), and have the output plumbed to the sink faucet and two refrigerators with ice makers and water dispensers. I say all of this to say that I change the filters quite a bit and that it would be nice to be able to see the condition of the filters without having to shut off the supply from the house plumbing, and shut off both of the pressure tank valves as well as the system backfeed valve I installed just to get a look at the filters. I have a well and have two of the "dreaded" clear Whirlpool whole home water filter units, one at point of entry before the well bladder tank, and one after my water softener system and before my UV sterilizer, both of which have been in service for 18 years without issue. Everything is installed in my utility room on the wall for easy access, and I replace the O-rings in the filter housings about every third filter change and wash the housings out with a bleach solution, rinse them well and lubricate the O-rings with silicone grease when installing new filters every time I change a filter, and never ever tighten any of them tighter than hand tight unless there is a drip, but I can't recall there ever being one. I don't understand why people have filter housings break unless they are being over tightened, installed in a harsh environment exposed to the elements, or somewhere where they are subject to being hit with things and getting damaged physically, or in direct sunlight and subjected to UV radiation. Therefore I wish there was an option to purchase clear housings for the ROES-50 filters in order to make proper maintenance as easy as the rest of my system, because other than that, the only complaint I have with the ROES-50 is that the white bladder tank that came with it leaks air and I have to repressurize it about every six months. The larger blue auxiliary tank I bought has yet to need to be repressurized.

Question:	Can the outlet be adapted to standard plumbing? i plan to mount this away from the sink and already have 1/2" pex plumbing to connect to
Answer:	Yes. I did that today when I installed the water filter. Due to the way my 1/2" PEX plumbing was set up, I had to install a 1/2" shut-off valve that reduces to a 3/8" male thread in one unit. I added a 3/8" reducer to 1/4" to hook up the tubing from this kit. Make sure you install a shut-off valve between the water filter and the PEX line because you need to isolate the water filter on both sides when you replace the filters.
Question:	Will this system remove copper from my water? My tap water tests dangerously high in copper and I need to filter it out

Answer:	Smart Flow Sensor Switch powers on/off UV light automatically by water flow, so it must be installed after the storage tank where water flow is high enough, if you install it before the storage tank the water flow will be to slow for the Sensor Switch to turn the light on.

Answer:	TWS is more powerful than ows. 55w compare to 40W. We normally suggest our customer install the OWS unit horizontally. Cause vertically installation might need extra support if the pipe is plastic. But that was not a problem for TWS system.

Answer:	As long as you protect it from freezing, it has to be plugged in, we have it installed inside. We are on a well, have a sediment filter, a carbon filter then the UV water purifier installed in the same line. Going to get a test kit and test the water for bacteria and see how well it does.
