Answer:	No difference same filter I never could understand why that is either SO I just buy the kit also when I change the filter I could never get it to work right So I found that on the mounting,, bracket there is a small button that shuts off the water so you can change the filter without turning off the water WELL that most of the time will break off therefore when you put the new filter it does not turn on the water and that's why I buy the complete rig and toss the old old one at a lesser price yeah!!! and I don't know why it's cheaper but it works for me . I know this took a while but I hope it helps you.

Question:	Do I need to treat the intial startup like I would a filter change
Answer:	Yes, you have to go through the setup process which is very similar to a filter change.
Question:	my light doesn't flash five times after putting the battery back in
Answer:	That light does not actually mean anything, its pre set to go off after a certain amount of time regardless of if your filter is good or bad. The smartest thing to do would be avoid the GE system all together, but in your case, just ignore the light. It will deceive you, because it doesn't actually reflect the status of your filter, so it could be a happy good light status even though your filter is bad, or it can make you waste money and tell you to replace a perfectly fine filter. Its not that hard to replace the AND install a new unit, the first time is about 10 harder than the second time. I exchanged 3 of these due to defects. Later I installed a whirlpool unit, and it was so much simpler than the GE.

Question:	What is the warranty for this filtering system
Answer:	Ok, I finally got this straight. The nipples on the chiller are actually 1/4th pipe thread. They feel really close to 5/16th compression fittings, but the best fit is the 1/4th pipe thread. Considering almost everything under the sink and with an RO system is 3/8th you will need some parts from a plumbing supply store to properly incorporate this into your system.
Question:	What type of filter does this use? It looks a little bit like a reverse osmosis filter system, but the flow rate suggests carbon filter
Answer:	Where would the source of the carbonated water be? It would have to be from a pressurized Tap. This unit is VERY loud when cooling. I would think twice a lot it if you plan on putting it in a family area, kitchen etc

Answer:	I suppose if you set the pump up to constantly circulate the water through the chiller it would work.

The Connection is 3/8" NPT, Increase the supply tubing to 3/8" Plastic, then install 2 x TEEs before and after the water filter 3/8" x 3/8" x 3/8" One line in two lines, one to each filter, then another TEE, and one line to your Refrigerator or to the faucet.DON'T Drill the hole in the filter larger. In order for the Activated Carbon to Work the water must achieve a specified residence time. If you want more flow then add 2 or 3 filters in parallel. Also the filters will last longer, as the volume of water is half as much as with 1 filter.I work for GE Gas Turbine; Hope this helps. I did this at home, as my Son was complaining about the LOW FLOW.

Answer:	That should work. The shelf life looks like it's one year.

Answer:	I haven't tried freezing them but I bet it would work best if you took the cap off to do so. There is not too much room in the pouch for expansion. I think the fruit ones taste much better to adults than the vegetable ones.
Question:	after running initial 5 minutes, the water comes through filter still cloudy when the water from tap is not cloudy, why
Answer:	The concentrate it has is lemon juice concentrate. My feeling is that it probably doesn't contain very much lemon juice, it's added just to keep it from going bad. Like when I put lemon juice on cut apples to keep them from going brown. I would rather have the lemon juice than chemicals. These do have 14g of sugar BUT the average banana also has 14g of sugar so that is where I'm guessing the sugar is coming from in these. I'd also rather have natural sugars from fruits than artificial or added sugars. Hope this helps! My only dislike on these is there size. My two year old hardly ever finishes one if these but she finishes other brands that are smaller.

Answer:	Few ways, I'd say in a normal household of 4 ypu should be good if your drinking it for 6-9 months depending on your cities water. Also the coco pebbles that are brown at the bottom will begin to turn white as the chlorine and other products pass through. Short answer 6 months then just replace 45 for a replacement I think.

Answer:	They are different sizes. One is 3/4" pipe fittings the other 1" pipe fittings. Take different filter cartridges. Check the specs out one might filter different or more microns than the other but I don't know that without researching that from manufacturers specs.

Answer:	The one I have has a pressure relief for filter replacement and bleeding air once filter is replace.
Question:	Is there a way to know if the filter cartridge needs replacing by looking at the cartridge
Answer:	I used this on a well system. The way i new to replace the filter was if the filter had turned a dark grey color. For my use, this was approximately once per month. An average 5 micron filter is all you need, typically.
Question:	Is this filter housing Bisphenol A (BPA) free
Answer:	The NSF 42 Certification in the User Manual does not help to answer this question. "The NSF/ANSI 401 addresses the ability of a water treatment device to remove up to 15 individual contaminants..." Answer:	It is an activated carbon block filtration media. It doesn't, according to GE, filter any flouride. Depending on your view of flouride that's either very good or not-so-very good.
Question:	I used to use ge fqslf, but for some reason there's not much of it selling anymore. can this be used in replacement of ge fqslf? has anyone tried
Answer:	GE has phased out FQSLF. This model is the replacement for that cartridge according to the GE website. I bought the FQSVF to replace FQSLF cartridges under my sink, and they installed perfectly.
Question:	how many gallons before light starts blinking
Answer:	The filter replacement light works on a timer, rather than measuring the amount of water that has passed through the filter. The Timer battery (CR2032 coin cell) is supposed to be replaced at each filter change, and doing so resets the 6 month replacement timer. You really do need to replace the battery, not just remove it and reinstall it. The battery may or may not last 2 6 month cycles, and if it dies, you get no reminder light.
