Answer:	I am not sure about a hinge but I am not happy with the item and would not recommend purchase. The seat does not stay connected to the seat cover and this is my second purchase as replacement.

Answer:	We have the round model, liked it so much after a year we ended up buying 'em for the whole house. As for your question, the lid itself is not terribly strong/heavy, although not a cheap weight either. My kids and I can sit on it with no issues, but now that you've asked the question I do feel a little bowing from the lid and I'm fairly small. That being said, the lower seat portion is very strong and the slow close (for seat and lid) have been terrific. My kids can't slam the lid if their lives depended on it =)

Question:	Is the base of the seat also slow close as it is "molded wood", or only the lid
Answer:	We do not recommend molded wood seats with Bidet attachments. The attachment raise the seat adding pressure to the hinges and seat itself. It can cause the seat or hing to break. Question:	Is this a new model different from the Bemis 183EC? What is the difference between both

Question:	Has anyone used this to start potty training a boy? Or is it better as a next step after one with handles, splash guard, etc
Answer:	I think you may have a defective one. We have installed 5 of them over 2 years (with many guests) and have never had this happen. I'd return it for a replacement and see if that helps!
Question:	Does anyone know the difference between this Mayfair 183SLOW seat & the Beamis 1583SLOW NextStep Child/Adult Built-in Potty Seat
Answer:	There is a year warranty on the seat, maybe take it back to the place pf purchase

Round - 16.5" or 42cm.

Check the position of toilet tank and lid:

1. Confirm that the toilet tank and bowl are level. Adjust tank bolts as necessary.

2. Confirm that cover is properly placed on the tank and/or cover is set toward the back of the tank.
