Answer:	Same thing happened to mine!! The lights also don't work and the water BARELY trickles out now....

Answer:	On the back of the unit, there is a small cover the size of a quarter held by 2 screws. You may need a small pocket knife or flat head screw driver to remove the cover. It has a rubber ring to seal it to keep out water. Once uncovered, you will see a small red switch box that has 2 switches. Move the #2 switch (or right side) to the on (or up) position and this will change from C to F.Good Luck!

Answer:	Yes, the base of the seat and the lid both slow close. The toddler insert does not, but it is made of a lighter plastic so it doesn't make too much noise on its own.
Question:	Regarding the round model: Is this heavy duty enough to be sat on while closed, or does it bow in? Slow close work well
Answer:	i believe the 183EC doesnt slow close the seat lid and the 83slow does.

Answer:	I highly recommend starting potty training with a small floor potty. My son eventually graduated to using this potty, but they need to be able to get to the toilet on their own.

Answer:	The only difference I can tell is one says Mayfair Next Step on the inside of the lid and the other says Beamis Next Step on the inside of the lid. The seats seem identical other than that.

Question:	Is the seat flat or does it slope inwards
Answer:	I don't believe so. While the smaller seat is removable, it attaches to the seat at the hinge on little protrusions that a regular seat won't have. Also the larger seat has an indent for the smaller seat so it will all close nicely and both the smaller and larger seats have magnets in them to hold the smaller seat to the larger until it is needed.
Question:	How thick is this seat
Answer:	Coming from an engineer, I don't expect there is a weight limit rating. It's a strong wood seat and not one of the flexible plastic ones. I own two of these and will buy a third when I replace the third toilet in our house. I didn't see any seats more sturdy at the hardware store.

Answer:	I assume magnet, but its easy to pull down and the lid grabs it when closed. My only criticism after having this for a few years is the ring that gets left on the seat when pee gets between the kid seat and regular seat. Even with keeping on top of cleaning it off, it still has left a mark around the seat, but its something I accept for the extra benefits it offers!!!

Question:	Can I just get the hardware and non t the seat somewhere ? I have this exact toilet seat and they are fine but the hardware is seized up

Question:	Will this seat slide side to side or stay put if you shift your wright
Answer:	We have the round model, liked it so much after a year we ended up buying 'em for the whole house. As for your question, the lid itself is not terribly strong/heavy, although not a cheap weight either. My kids and I can sit on it with no issues, but now that you've asked the question I do feel a little bowing from the lid and I'm fairly small. That being said, the lower seat portion is very strong and the slow close (for seat and lid) have been terrific. My kids can't slam the lid if their lives depended on it =)
Question:	How heavy or substantial is this toilet seat? I'm looking for one that is sturdy, durable, and can support weight, look nice & easy to clean
Answer:	16-5/8"
Question:	Are the hinges made from metal:if so what kind, or a plastic type of material painted to look like chrome
Answer:	I weigh 365 and the right seat hinge broke after 3 months. On the description it said won't loosen well hat was not true

Answer:	Not a clue, contact the manufacturer.
Question:	Does the hardware fit a kohler toilet
Answer:	You may have the wrong hardware kit for your toilet seat. I did. I had to buy a replacement seat because I could not find the right set of bolts on Amazon
Question:	Can someone tell me if the biscuit/linen color is white? Please don't answer "I don't know
Answer:	You can't remove the bolt from the cap. They are glued together. The cap and bolt go through the seat hole on the back of the seat lid at the hinge and attaches with a washer underneath.
Question:	Is the seat padded with a wood insert OR is it hard wood only
Answer:	The bolt part is 1.5 inch. That does not include the cap on it.

Answer:	The throne seat and lid is manufacture from high density composite wood (HD) with enamel finish. I weigh round 240 after dumpage occurs. Being a trained professional I can report the the lid holds up well when stinging on it to reach dust bunnies located at the corners of the ceiling. Question:	what is the difference between cotton white and white
Answer:	I have the same issue. And I can't tighten it any further because there's not enough room for the wrench to lay flat, so I have to tighten it by hand. So the seat doesn't go all the way back because it's blocked by the screws.

We suggest using a mild detergent (such as dish washing soap) mixed with warm water. Rinse clean, dry with a soft towel, and let the seat air-dry to ensure the hinge area dries completely. Do not use bleach, pine oils, essential oils, chlorine, acid, scouring powders, detergents, disinfectants, or products in aerosol cans. Harsh chemicals can rub away the paint finish on toilet seats and the metal finish on hinges. This can create a dirty worn-away look on molded wood seats as well as corrosion and peeling of the metal hinge finish.
